Katie

I don’t know why but for some reason I have always hated the name [name_f]Katie[/name_f] but here lately I have started to fall in love with it I would only use it as a middle name and not a first name but what are your thoughts on this name as as a middle name for a little girl

I like [name_f]Katie[/name_f] it was one of my favourite names when I was a child. Now though it feels a bit dated…although 90s is maybe coming back back in trend.

As a [name_f]Katie[/name_f], I feel I absolutely need to weigh in on this! I was born in the 00s and I grew up with a handful of other Katie’s. I also work with young children and I’ve met a few toddler Katie’s. Usually it’s a nickname for Katherine/Kaitlin/Kathleen (I’m a [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] myself!) I wouldn’t consider it dated by any means, but I’m admittedly biased haha.

I alternate between Kate/Katie. I was named after my great aunt, and I’ve always liked my name. I can always find it on a keychain, everyone can pronounce/spell it, etc. I think it’s cute and fun, if not a little common. Is it the name I would’ve chose for myself? Probably not, but I’m still very happy to be a [name_f]Katie[/name_f] and love to see other people use it

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!!

I used to adore the name [name_f]Katie[/name_f], now not so much. I still appreciate it though.

She’s very timeless and well suited to many different kinds of people. She’s classy and playful at the same time.

I know a girl named [name_f]Katie[/name_f], like her first name is only [name_f]Katie[/name_f]. She’s a spunky and sassy little thing, and it suits her well.

I think [name_f]Katie[/name_f] is lovely she’s such a sweet, endearing choice that feels wholesome and has a laid back girl next door vibe. I think [name_f]Katie[/name_f] would make a very sweet middle name!

I really like [name_f]Katie[/name_f]. It has a vintage [name_m]Irish[/name_m] American flair. As a middle I find it a bit difficult to pair given the hard ‘a’ and ‘i’ sounds.

For first names I think I’d go with:

[name_f]Brianna[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Maureen[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Treasa[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Katie[/name_f]

@Dragonrescuer that is special for me because I do have an [name_m]Irish[/name_m] background on my dad’s side of the family and it would be used as a middle name if I could ever get the chance to adopt a little girl

It’s better as a middle. It’s overused IMO.

Seconding all of this as a [name_f]Katie[/name_f] [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] :white_heart:

It’s a well played classic, short and sweet. I myself do prefer to lean away from diminutives so I’d personally opt for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] as opposed to [name_f]Katie[/name_f]
