I use to love the name [name_u]Kayden[/name_u] but I always thought it was a boy name and it became really popular. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband mentioned it for a girl. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it could be a girl name? [name_m]How[/name_m] would you spell it?
I guess it could be, but these names are so often associated with boys names i’m not sure it would work.Mind you, there are a lot of unisex names being used these days, I guess the choice is completely whether you want to do it or not. If there was a little girl called [name_u]Kayden[/name_u], it would grow on people. Personally I’m not a fan though. [name_m]Kaiden[/name_m] or [name_m]Kaidan[/name_m] seem more feminine to me but I know little boys named [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] and [name_m]Kaiden[/name_m] so not too sure on that one. Good luck!
[name_u]Kayden[/name_u] is a very masculine name. Since it’s a trendy made-up name, I suppose it could work on either gender but people will always think your daughter is a boy. In 2012, there were 7.7 boys born for every 1 girl… that means it was given to boys 87.03% of the time.
[name_u]Kayden[/name_u] and [name_m]Caden[/name_m] are the most original spellings. I’d avoid any other spellings.
I definitely prefer [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]. [name_m]Cayden[/name_m] could be a nn for it?
Try [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]. It’s much nicer and it’s spelled correctly. If you want your daughter to “stand-out”, avoid all “ayden” names. There are so many of them, it’s like an epidemic.
I completely agree with [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]. [name_u]Ayden[/name_u] names are way too done now. [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] has a similar sound and feel and is way less trendy.
I would prefer [name_u]Kayden[/name_u] for no one. Try [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] or [name_f]Katie[/name_f] instead.
I knew a little girl named [name_m]Kaiden[/name_m], once. So it’s not unheard of. I don’t think I would ever use it on a girl, though.
Definitely go for [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]/[name_f]Kaydence[/name_f] instead Much more feminine and far prettier than [name_u]Kayden[/name_u].
I personally wouldn’t use it but I do know a girl named [name_u]Mason[/name_u] so I do think these names are being used for both genders.
I like [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]/[name_f]Kaydence[/name_f] but could never use it. [name_f]Sister[/name_f] in laws name is [name_f]Candace[/name_f], too close.
I also prefer [name_f]Cadence[/name_f], but, [name_m]Caden[/name_m] is a great name or nickname. I would just spell it [name_m]Caden[/name_m].
I’d keep looking. There are so many gorgeous options for girls out there. ‘K’ names are a bit tired (imho), unless it’s a true classic, but I’d still spell [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] w/a ‘C’.
I’m with everyone else - [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] is a better choice if you like the sound. I’ve only ever heard of boys being named [name_m]Caden[/name_m] (or any of its other spellings), and the whole ayden craze is fairly boy-centric, not to mention rather tired.
There appear to be bazillions of little male Cadens/Kaidens/Kaydens, etc. so I would encourage you to look further.
It is a nice sound, but so overused as to be distressing.
