Keira, Kiera, Kira

All pronounced kee-ra.

What are your thoughts on this name?

How would you spell it and why?

Is it trendy? Dated?

It feels a bit early 2000s to me.

I like [name_f]Keira[/name_f]! I have a negative association with someone with this name, but [name_f]Keira[/name_f] is just too sweet to be ruined.

I believe [name_f]Kiera[/name_f] is the traditional spelling, but [name_f]Keira[/name_f] is so mainstream it feels “right.” I also know both a [name_f]Kira[/name_f] and [name_f]Kyra[/name_f], both of which I like.

Ιt does have a dated feel to me, but in that 2000s way that you mentioned, so not exactly dated in the mum/grandma name way! [name_f]Keira[/name_f] is the spelling I’d go for, it’s just the one I’ve seen the most. As for my thoughts, I just think it’s fine! The “keer” sound is too harsh to my ears, but that’s just a personal preference.

[name_f]Keira[/name_f] looks wrong tbh but that might just be my American eyes so I’d probably go with [name_f]Kiera[/name_f].

I think it is a tad dated but still usable. It definitely has a mid-90s/early 2000s vibe.

I’d say [name_f]Keira[/name_f] is my fav, only because it’s the spelling I’m most familiar with. The spelling [name_f]Kira[/name_f] just reminds me of KIA cars for some reason, and that puts me off. [name_f]Kiera[/name_f] just doesn’t look right in my head tho lol.

I think [name_f]Keira[/name_f] is the most attractive/up to date version, but I’d agree it feels a bit dated/2000s to me.

I am most familiar with [name_f]Keira[/name_f], thanks to [name_f]Keira[/name_f] [name_u]Knightley[/name_u]. I wonder if your 2000s feel of the name comes from her (as that’s when she was at her peak?)

I don’t think the name ever reached dizzying heights of popularity though, so it doesn’t feel dated like [name_u]Madison[/name_u] or [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] do, for example.

I like the name [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] preferred spellings are [name_f]Kira[/name_f] and [name_f]Keira[/name_f] - I don’t think I’ve seen it spelt [name_f]Kiera[/name_f] before so it looks wrong to me. I knew a girl in a college class who spelt it [name_f]Kyra[/name_f] and spent most of her time correcting people from calling her KYE-ra instead of Kee-ra.

I like [name_f]Keira[/name_f] - the sound has always been quite appealing - strong but sweet

[name_f]Keira[/name_f] is my fave spelling here, but I like [name_f]Kira[/name_f] too

From the K versions maybe Kiera… but i vastly prefer the [name_u]Irish[/name_u] version [name_f]Ciara[/name_f] I personally think C is classier then K and less likely to date… not sure why…

I think [name_f]Keira[/name_f] looks the most complete. But I also don’t mind [name_f]Kira[/name_f], [name_f]Kirra[/name_f], [name_f]Ciara[/name_f], [name_f]Kiera[/name_f]. Dislike [name_f]Keera[/name_f], and also dislike the fact it has so many spellings.
This is one of those names that feels dated and trendy at the same time? I know SO many girls called [name_f]Keira[/name_f]- a couple adults, two teen girls, and in my dance school there are four different ones, all different spellings between ages 4-13. I also know two Kyras (Kai-rah.) So it just feels very popular- and yes, it does have an early 2000s slightly dated feel.
I would think of [name_f]Keira[/name_f] Knightey- bad association because of her acting in Pride and Predjudice (the one with her is my least favourite version.)
I personally don’t like it for the above reasons and also because the look and sound of a harsh K are not appealing- because of my Synesthesia.

However, that is all just personal bias. I think that in theory it is a sweet name that is familiar and possibly considered a timeless choice!
