After a traumatizing debate that has gone on for months, we have finally decided on the name [name]Kellan[/name]/[name]Kellen[/name] for our baby boy. Ironically, it was the first name I suggested. At first, I thought it should be spelled [name]Kellan[/name]. DH was leaning more toward [name]Kellen[/name]. Neither of us have a strong preference–[name]Kellan[/name] is more masculine looking to me, but I think people will tend to spell it [name]Kellen[/name]. So, should we go with [name]Kellen[/name] to make it easier? Thoughts? Thanks!!
[name]Kellan[/name] is the more traditional spelling, so I would go with that. [name]Kellen[/name] seems more feminine to me, with the “ellen” in it.
i would automatically choose [name]Kellan[/name].
I’d go with [name]Kellan[/name].
I agree with the others–[name]Kellan[/name] is much more attractive to me! I couldn’t put my finger on which I felt was more feminine-ish but after @mrose mentioned the “ellen” thing I can’t get it out of my head! I agree that [name]Kellan[/name] is the more traditional of the spellings, and that’s about 99% why I gravitate toward that.
The MN is still [name]Hayes[/name], right? I think [name]Kellan[/name] [name]Hayes[/name] is really cute!
Good luck!
Well, [name]Kellan[/name]/[name]Kellen[/name] is a fairly rare name; I don’t think it has a fully established spelling. [name]Kellan[/name] looks more attractive to me than [name]Kellen[/name].
My step-brother is named [name]Kellan[/name]. He’s 16 and has only had one or two issues with people spelling it.
My name is [name]Ellen[/name], and I always see my name when I look at [name]Kellen[/name], haha. I would suggest [name]Kellan[/name], too.
I would spell it [name]Kellan[/name] because the only person I know of with the name (the actor) spells it that way.
Looks like I’m majorly outnumbered … I would go with [name]Kellen[/name].
Ok that’s a fair amount of people in favor of the “a” spelling! Sounds good to me! It threw me a bit bc the popularity of the name with an “a” has only appeared in the top 1000 in three recent years, where it has been in the top 1000 since 1999 spelled with an “e”. But the “[name]Ellen[/name]” throws me too. I do feel the [name]Kellan[/name] spelling looks more masculine. Yes, his middle names is [name]Hayes[/name] in memory of his brother. I am so thankful to finally have a name–it brings me much relief! Thanks to everyone who helped us!! Six weeks to go!
I know 2 [name]Kellen[/name]'s one 25 and one 2 and both are spelled [name]Kellen[/name] with the e. [name]Kellan[/name] just looks misspelled to me.
I’ve never seen it spelled [name]Kellen[/name] before. I love how [name]Kellan[/name] looks, though.
Another vote for [name]Kellan[/name]
I prefer [name]Kellen[/name].
I’ve always thought [name]Kellan[/name] has way more substance. Great choice, by the way, I love [name]Kellan[/name] [name]Hayes[/name]
