Kendra, Kindra…?

What do you think about the names [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] and [name_f]Kindra[/name_f]? Seems unclear if it is spelling variations of the same name or not. What is your associations with the name(s)?

They aren’t really my style but that doesn’t mean they are a bad name in fact I really like the look of the name just not particularly the sound. It’s also a unique name which I love! I’ve never met anyone named this before!

I think I prefer the spelling [name_f]Kindra[/name_f] / [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]

I prefer [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]! It has quite a warm yet strong sound

There was a [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] in my cabin when I was a counselor this summer, didn’t really like the name before but now I appreciate it more. It’s not my style but it’s still very beautiful and strong sounding. Not a fan of the [name_f]Kindra[/name_f] spelling, I think I’d try to pronounce it keen-dra or keyen-dra (long i sound) rather than ken-dra.

I prefer [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] to [name_f]Kindra[/name_f]! I’m in the UK but I wouldn’t say these are the same name! I can see how they would be pronounced similarly in some places in the US though!

I really like [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]! I don’t have any associations with either name. I would pronounce [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] and [name_f]Kindra[/name_f] a little bit differently.

I like [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] in a kind of 50s [name_f]Sandra[/name_f] way. I’ve never come across [name_f]Kindra[/name_f].

I know several Kendra’s and 1 [name_f]Kindra[/name_f]. They are pronounced differently ken vs. [name_u]Kin[/name_u]

I love both names but [name_f]Kindra[/name_f] feels like feminine to me

Thank you all!

I definitely pronounce them differently. I am not the biggest fan of either of them but I prefer [name_f]Kindra[/name_f] more.

I like the name. I prefer [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]. On one website there was a girl who went under the name [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] and she seemed kind of mean, but it may not have even been her real name and some people just act mean on the internet, especially young people, but they might be nicer in real life. I don’t think I’ve met anyone else with the name [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] so it’s hard to know how I’d imagine the person, but I do like it. It sounds kind of like a “cool girl” name. I also like [name_f]Chandra[/name_f].

I only know of Kendra Dumbledore, Albus Dumbledore’ mother. Always thought it was an odd name for a witch born in 19th century, feels very 1970s to me
Personally not a fan, never heard Kindra before, but I like it more and I pronounce them differently. Kendra like Wren and Kindra like Kim
