Kenzie

I cannot get the name [name]Kenzie[/name] out of my head! I am falling in love with it but it does not fit with my style! WDYT? Could this name ever fit with a bunch of vintage names? Please be honest I can take it.

I would think it a nick name of Mckensee or Mikeala or some modern masher, so imo it wouldnt fit with a vintage set.
the [name]KEN[/name] part seems way to masceline to me, a boys name.

I does feel a bit modern, I would think of it as nickname for [name]Mackenzie[/name] or [name]Kensington[/name] which are both unisex surnames/place names - both of which are very trendy.

However it might blend nicely with other more vintage unisex names. Could you post some of the names you like so we could maybe post some suggestions in your style that may fit with [name]Kenzie[/name]?

Some of the names I like are [name]Clara[/name], [name]Amelia[/name] NN [name]Mia[/name], [name]Willa[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Dalia[/name], [name]Indira[/name]/[name]India[/name], [name]Aloisa[/name] NN [name]Allie[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Sophie[/name]. I am restructuring my list and I am sure a lot of these will stay but not necessarily all of them will. [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] have been on my list for years though so I know for sure they will stay.

You do seem to like quite feminine sounding names, but of the ones you have posted [name]Willa[/name], [name]Stella[/name] and [name]India[/name] seem fresher, less ‘frilly’ and have a bit of spunk; I think they could work with [name]Kenzie[/name] in a sibset. Particularly if [name]Kenzie[/name] is paired with a more vintage feminine mn like [name]Kenzie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name].

I absolutely agree with peach!
I have a friend who’s named [name]Kenzie[/name], she quite likes her name and hasn’t received any negative comments about her name. (Except for the obvious question of, ‘Is [name]Kenzie[/name] a nickname for [name]Mackenzie[/name]?’

I think [name]Kenzie[/name] would be fine with a vintage middle name - for example, [name]Kenzie[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] or [name]Kenzie[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]. I do have to say that from the “vintage name” standpoint, [name]Kenzie[/name] does seem like it’d be a boy’s name. I know a [name]Kenneth[/name] who goes by [name]Kenzie[/name].

I think it works better as a nickname, but I wanted to chime in and say that Kensie is also the name of a clothing brand.

I have to say that I can’t imagine [name]Kenzie[/name] with your other favorites! [name]Kenzie[/name] just seems SO different from [name]Clara[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Sophie[/name], etc. Maybe you could do something like [name]Stella[/name] [name]Kenzie[/name] or [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Kenzie[/name]? I have a few unisex names that are GPs, too (like [name]Harper[/name], [name]Addison[/name], and Linley), and I think they work fairly well as MNs for those gorgeous old-fashioned, vintagey-type names.

In my opinion it doesn’t fit with vintage names. It is very “late '90’s” to me and it will be assumed she is named [name]Mackenzie[/name] so she may be called that. Vintage names seem sweet and timeless where [name]Mackenzie[/name] or [name]Kenzie[/name] now seemed a tad dated to me.

I agree. I really dislike [name]Kenzie[/name].

I don’t know, I’m totally torn about [name]Kenzie[/name] too (although I prefer the [name]Kenzi[/name] spelling). It seems really spunky and bad-ass to me (anyone watch Lost Girl?) but I feel like others will think it’s uber-girly-sickly-sweet. But then people are also saying it’s too masculine and other that it’s dated!! In the end, I think I don’t love it enough to use as a first name. Maybe a middle.

Wow where did this thread come from? I wouldn’t in a million years use [name]Kenzie[/name] now!
