What are everyone’s thoughts on Kipton? He would be called [name]Kip[/name] a lot of the time, but I really want to have a more formal name for it. [name]Kip[/name] just seems incomplete to me as a given name (even though I know someone that has this as a given name!) Kipling was a favorite for awhile, but I think I prefer Kipton more now. Thoughts? Also, any ideas for middle names? Thanks!
Kipton is a little strange for my style but I think it could work however it might sound a little silly on an older man.
Kipton [name]Alexander[/name]
Kipton [name]Oliver[/name]
Kipton [name]Max[/name]
Kipton [name]Zachary[/name]
Kipton [name]Matthew[/name]
Kipton [name]James[/name]
Kipton [name]Isaac[/name]
Kipton [name]Thomas[/name]
I think it works! I also once saw Kipland on a gravestone, another option you might like.
Kipton reminds me of Lipton (as in noodle soup) so I don’t like it. But I do like the suggestion of Kipland.
Kipton is not my style.
Hey Littlelady. I’m not really feeling Kipton - does make me think of Lipton tea - but [name]Kip[/name] is sweet. Kipling?
I agree with emmbobemma–I think of “Lipton.” “[name]Kip[/name]” also means to take a nap in [name]England[/name]. So, I think sleepy tea.
I’m not sure, it’s too unusual for my ear. I’d use [name]Kipp[/name] with a classic MN.
I think Kipling is a much better option. I can envision a child or a distinguished older man named Kipling. But a 50-something named Kipton? I have a hard time seeing that. It’s much too cutesy, imo.
[name]Kip[/name] can be short for [name]Christopher[/name]. I’d rather use that. Kipling is better than Kipton I think but then there’s the cake association…
I am sorry but I think of Lipton Ice [name]Tea[/name]. But I love the nn [name]Kip[/name]!!!
It reminds me too much of [name]Bill[/name] Kimpton and his chain of Kimpton Boutique Hotels (US based only).
I automatically thought of Lipton tea. I don’t like it, sorry!
I much prefer Kipling, but am not a fan of any of them. Sorry. I’d stick to [name]Kip[/name] as a nn for [name]Christopher[/name].
i grew up with a boy named [name]Patrick[/name] who was called [name]Kip[/name], so that’s another full-name option besides [name]Christopher[/name]…
I really like Kipling.
I [name]LOVE[/name] Kipling, I recently interviewed a grownup [name]Kip[/name] and actually googled him (call it namenerd stalking) because I was dying to know what it was short for. [name]Kip[/name] is cute and Kipling is classic. (plus literary, which i love)
Kipton to me sounds made up, no offence. It sounds insubstantial for a grown man, very trendy and the two sharp little syllables are unpleasant to my ears compared to the flowing “Kipling”
Personally I love the name but I’ve never really heard of it before this
