Kit or Kitty middle names?

At hubby’s insistance we would be greatful for thoughts on the names [name_u]Kit[/name_u] for a boy and [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] for a girl.
We have twins due at end of [name_u]August[/name_u], no idea on genders and live in UK. We’ve had great advice on girls names, and one definate boy name picked.
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves the fact that as a young child I had a dog called [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] (great dog, loved her to bits). He loves it for two reasons. Firstly because it’s a dog called [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] and yes it’s funny. Secondly, she was originally called [name_u]Kit[/name_u] by my Dad, after the kit car from [name_m]Knight[/name_m] [name_m]Rider[/name_m] (but as kids it’s morphed into the more girly [name_f]Kitty[/name_f]).
I should say I don’t dislike either of these names, and both would work with were we live. Firmly on the middle name list though not the first. [name_f]My[/name_f] questions are do you like these names, and more importantly is it a bad idea to give your child a name of a pet you once had?

IMO I don’t think it’s odd to name your LO after something in your childhood even if it was your pet as long as it is deceased. However if you have a twin boy and girl I would advise not using the nicknames [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_f]Kitty[/name_f]. They are just too similar in my opinion. Opt instead to NN the girl [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] (so cute btw) and give the boy their own unique NN.

I like [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] and [name_u]Kit[/name_u]!

Kit [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]

Kitty [name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]

love [name_u]Kit[/name_u] so much! It’s one of my most favorite names. I think it’d make a handsome, sweet middle! I don’t think it’s weird. I had a cat named [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] when I was little, and I love the name so much that I’d still use it on a child someday!
I think it’s a sweet connection to your childhood, and maybe even your dad (if you want that!), because he’s the one who originally named the dog.
I do like [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] too, I just prefer [name_u]Kit[/name_u]!
I’m not sure if you meant you were considering this, but I wouldn’t use both [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] for twins (even as middles!), I think they’re too close. You could go with [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] though, if you were looking for that association between the two!

Good luck!! and congratulations!!

(also, I too love the fact that you had a dog named [name_f]Kitty[/name_f]! so cute!!)

I love [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_f]Kitty[/name_f]! As long as you’re comfortable, I don’t see any issue with using the same name as a previous pet!

I like both [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_f]Kitty[/name_f]! I worked with a [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] once. She was stunningly beautiful with a sunny personality. I also think of the glamourous [name_f]Lady[/name_f] [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]. I only have good associations! I can’t really comment on the whole pet thing as I have never owned a pet.

Wishing you the best for your pregnancy

Most people don’t use their mn that often, so I don’t think the pet connection would be a problem. For a fn I’d probably feel differently. I don’t think I’d use both for twins tho.
