Laiklyn/Lakelyn?

Saw this on Pinterest and I think I really like it. Can’t seem to find anything about it so I thought I’d come here for opinions.

I lean more towards Laiklyn myself but what do you think about the name in general?

It’s definitely made-up, so you won’t find an etymological meaning for it. Made-up names don’t bother me in the least but I’m just not a fan of Lakelyn, not a fan of -lyn endings in general and [name_u]Lake[/name_u] sounds awkward as a first name to me. Not to be a debbie downer, but it’s just really, really not my style.

I prefer Lakelyn. It looks much cleaner.

I also prefer the Lakelyn spelling. It’s more intuitive to me.

From an etymological standpoint it looks a bit odd to me since the name [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] derives from Welsh llyn meaning “lake”, so the name kind of means “lake lake”. But few people carry around name etymology books.

Lakelyn, definitely.

Definitely Lakelyn, and I like it  I don’t mind about made-up names, all the names have been invited one day.

I agree with this. This would be the spelling I would assume if I heard the name.

Lakelyn is much more transparent- Laiklyn could be pronounced Like-lyn. Also Lakelyn is obviously a spin on [name_u]Lake[/name_u], which gives it some obvious meaning and connection to nature, whereas it’s not clear where Laiklyn is coming from, if that makes sense.

I kind of like it as well! I definitely prefer Lakelyn though. It makes the most sense to me.

Lakelyn, please, it looks much prettier and less like a toddler misspelling their name
It reminds me of [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]
