I have always pronounced it [name_m]LAY[/name_m]-na. I knew a girl with this name, she pronounced it the way I do. Although she mostly went by [name_f]Lani[/name_f], [name_m]LAY[/name_m]-nie.
I have always pronounced it LAN-NA. I have a friend with the name [name_f]Laina[/name_f], which she pronounces [name_m]LAY[/name_m]-NA.
I have always pronounced it pretty phonetically, like LAR-na (that’s because I’m a southern [name_u]Brit[/name_u], the closest one you have is LAH-na)… [name_m]Just[/name_m] like [name_f]Lana[/name_f] [name_u]Del[/name_u] [name_u]Rey[/name_u] and the end of [name_f]Alana[/name_f].
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] I’d pronounce [name_m]LAY[/name_m]-na (and [name_u]LEE[/name_u]-na.)
LAH-na is what I believe is the correct pronunciation. Like [name_f]Lana[/name_f] del [name_u]Rey[/name_u].
I really like the name [name_f]Lana[/name_f]. It’s my mother’s name. She has never had any problems with it.
I don’t like LAN-na at all (even though I have heard it pronounced that way) and I don’t think [name_m]LAY[/name_m]-na fits with the spelling ([name_m]LAY[/name_m]-na would be spelled [name_f]Laina[/name_f] or [name_f]Layna[/name_f]).
[name_f]Lana[/name_f] is my #1 name right now (Lah-Na), like [name_f]Lana[/name_f] [name_m]Turner[/name_m] or [name_f]Lana[/name_f] Lang (from Superman) or [name_f]Lana[/name_f] [name_u]Del[/name_u] [name_u]Rey[/name_u]. I have also seen the spelling Laana, which part of me thinks it is kinda cool, but also may be confusing.
LAH-na, as in [name_f]Lana[/name_f] del [name_u]Rey[/name_u] and [name_f]Lana[/name_f] Parrilla.
I read it as Lah-na (I like this) but am aware it could be Lan-na (I don’t like this pronunciation). I wouldn’t read it as [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-na (which I do like the pronunciation of…but I’d spell that [name_f]Laina[/name_f] or [name_f]Layna[/name_f]).
