Lane/ Layne

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! What feeling does this name give you? I recently discovered it for a girl and am really liking it. It feels a little preppy but also sweet.

I am thinking it would be paired nicely with a longer, frillier name- [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] come to mind.

What other middles do you like/ would you recommend? Any favorites? Our last name is 2 syllables and ends in y/“ee” sound so prefer something that doesn’t end that same way.

Lots of views, no feedback… Bumping in hopes of some

I think [name_f]Lainey[/name_f]/[name_u]Laney[/name_u]‘s adorable, but I’m not too fond of [name_u]Lane[/name_u], personally (sorry!). It’s a fine name, but I generally think of it as either a boys’ name (thanks to my friend. She loves it for a boy, so now it’s hard for me to see it for a girl), or a synonym for road or street. It has a similar feel to [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] for me, though–androgynous, sort of modern and cool. [name_u]Laney[/name_u] is an adorable nn. Of your combo ideas, I like [name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] the best by far.

Good luck!

Thank you. [name_u]Lane[/name_u] is nice for a boy as well. Usually when I like a name for a boy or girl I have a set preference for which (like love [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] for a boy but not so much a girl) but [name_u]Lane[/name_u] is one I truly like for both!

I think I first saw [name_u]Lane[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]Delaney[/name_u], but after a while I really started t see it as a name on its own. It think it’s really cute for a girl and for a boy!
I do prefer the [name_u]Lane[/name_u] spelling.

Of you nicknames, I like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

Good luck!

I love [name_u]Lane[/name_u]! And I agree it’s gorgeous on both girls and boys, though I think I slightly prefer it on girl.
[name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] flow really nicely together.
Some other ideas:
[name_u]Lane[/name_u] Gloriana
[name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
[name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Berenice[/name_f]
[name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Ingela[/name_f]

I prefer [name_u]Lane[/name_u] on a boy.

I know a couple of [name_u]Lane[/name_u]'s…they are all males.

However, I agree with previous posters and think the name [name_u]Laney[/name_u], [name_f]Lainey[/name_f], is adorable for a girl.

Another option is to use the name [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] as a full/formal name but simply just refer to her as [name_u]Lane[/name_u]/[name_u]Laine[/name_u] and the name would stick. At least then when she is older if she chooses to, she has another name option to fall back on.

Of your middle name options I like [name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] the most.
