Larson needs a middle name

help! due in 4 weeks.
we have a 3.5 yr old named [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] (On ne Ka, traditional european spelling and pronunciation)
our fave top boy pick if this baby is a boy is [name_m]Larson[/name_m]. nn [name_m]Lars[/name_m] (obviously… lol)

Our other choices were [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] but they just seem too popular now, or something just not right, [name_m]Larson[/name_m] seems so perfect

need a middle name for him… i tend to steer toward one syllable middle names. our daughter is [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u].
i want something off beat or different… or classic , love old names. i cant decide… also cant decide if a family name for middle name would be good. our kids carry both our last names, un hyphenated. perhaps i dont use any middle name!

[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]?
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] (but our daughter is [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] so that might be weird?)
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] (no affiliation, except we have a good friend named [name_m]Peter[/name_m]!!)
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] (my grandfather name)
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Levi[/name_m] (sounds hillbilly or not right… i dunno)
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Jan[/name_u] (my husbands name, pronounced YAHN)
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Karl[/name_m] (a family name, grandparent uncle on paternal side… dont really dig it)
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Josef[/name_m] (family name)

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Drake[/name_m] or [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]?

[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] - flow is off
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] - nice enough, but nothing special
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] - not the best flow but both are nice names
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] - Really great! Not, though, with [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] - Very handsome, I love [name_m]Peter[/name_m]!
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] - This one has my vote! Handsome sound and looks!!
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Levi[/name_m] - not loving the alliteration, and [name_m]Levi[/name_m] seems odd with a sister named [name_f]Anneke[/name_f]. But that’s just me
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Jan[/name_u] - I would have said it like the girls’ name [name_u]Jan[/name_u]. But the flow doesn’t work either pronunciation
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Karl[/name_m] - don’t love it, but not bad
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Josef[/name_m] - again, don’t love it but it’s not terrible or anything

So my vote is [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]! Followed by [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m].

I liked:
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Josef[/name_m] (family name)

What about [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u], [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Jace[/name_u] or [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]Tyler[/name_u]?

thanks for the suggestions y’all. Now im having second thoughts on [name_m]Larson[/name_m] altogether. ACK WHY!!!

Any other suggestion?? I think our top boy name is still [name_m]Lars[/name_m].

Really loving [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m], and [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]–probably in that order! I have to say, I’m loving [name_m]Larson[/name_m], and I love the idea of a little [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] out there! Such a charming, quirky, timeless, handsome name. I think [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Josef[/name_m] (if [name_u]Jan[/name_u] is YAHN, is [name_m]Josef[/name_m] [name_f]YO[/name_f]-sef then?) is lovely, as well.

Still doubting [name_m]Larson[/name_m]? :frowning: [name_m]Just[/name_m] saw that halfway through your thread. I think [name_m]Larson[/name_m] is fab, and [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] and [name_m]Larson[/name_m] are so completely cool together! I would be tickled pink to meet a little boy with the name, and [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] and [name_m]Lars[/name_m] are so fab together (I would skip [name_m]Lars[/name_m] altogether and just use [name_m]Larson[/name_m], but just [name_m]Lars[/name_m] is lovely, too!). What is it about [name_m]Larson[/name_m] that you aren’t sure about?

[name_m]Lars[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Lars[/name_m] [name_m]Stellan[/name_m]
[name_m]Lars[/name_m] [name_u]Alexios[/name_u]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]

I like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] with [name_m]Lars[/name_m] as the first name, rather than [name_m]Larson[/name_m].

[name_m]Ah[/name_m] you are so awesome!! [name_m]Just[/name_m] the kind of oomph and confidence I needed. I’m not sure why I started to doubt it. Perhaps because it only came to be our top fave in the past month when all along its been [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Levi[/name_m], etc. I still love [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] but as my husband suggested [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] appears more of a fun name rather than [name_m]Larson[/name_m] ‘[name_m]Lars[/name_m]’ which has a rock n roll edge but also more serious. And I agree it goes well with [name_f]Anneke[/name_f]. I guess I have to get used to it just like [name_f]Anneke[/name_f]. Her name is so different and now ppl are starting to pronounce it properly (most do. You get the odd duck who is still saying It like [name_f]Annika[/name_f])
I think [name_m]Larson[/name_m] and calling him [name_m]Lars[/name_m] is better than just naming him [name_m]Lars[/name_m] because then as an adult he can choose the full name or [name_m]Lars[/name_m].

I like that I don’t know anyone with the name around here. A few ppl have said they knew an adult [name_m]Lars[/name_m]. All the other names we liked don’t seem to pair with [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] all that well or they are already popular or we know kids with the names ([name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_u]Gus[/name_u], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], milo, [name_m]Henry[/name_m])

I like [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]

[name_f]Ado[/name_f] something in never thought about before until name berries mentioning it was they thought ‘[name_m]Larson[/name_m]’ reminded them if ‘arson and larceny’. I’ve NeVer thought this. Perhaps because being European I think more in those naming terms and perhaps it’s Americans or Canadians who think of larceny and arson. If that makes sense !8?!

We also thought we may wait a few days to name this baby. See what goes or flows. We named [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] right away. Tough birth and circumstance and it happened. And I had my doubts for awhile but now can’t imagine this sassy spunky blondey3.5 yr old with any other name!
