Last minute addition to Edmund's mn list

I’ve been wavering back and forth between [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] as a middle name for our [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] due in 3 weeks, but today thought I’d add [name_m]Liam[/name_m] to the mix as well since nothing has really stuck yet. My late dad was [name_m]William[/name_m] “[name_m]Bill[/name_m]”.

[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] - using his name as is. Most direct honor.

[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] - most people list the negatives (sounds over the top or trying too hard, or too similar to [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m]) but I can’t let it go yet. I still love it, even if it screams [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] superfan.

[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m] - Much more popular these days even compared to [name_m]William[/name_m], but I thought it might balance out the too old and not ready for revival feeling some people get from [name_m]Edmund[/name_m].

Anyone care to weigh in? What is your favorite?

Thanks!

I really like [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m]! 9 times out of 10, I would pick [name_m]William[/name_m] over [name_m]Liam[/name_m] for a middle name but in this case I like [name_m]Liam[/name_m] better. I agree with you - [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] & [name_m]Liam[/name_m] balance eachother really well. I do not agree that [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] is not ready for revival yet though! I knew an [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] in college and he was such a great guy and I’ve always liked the name. My second choice is [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]. I really like both of them.

[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] super fans are awesome, and so are the names that define us as such.

My pick would absolutely, unwaveringly be [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m]; it’s too cool to worry about other people maybe thinking it’s trying too hard.

Congrats on [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]!

I also [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m]–there’s just something about the way these two flow together

I say that [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m] sounds the best. Most of the time I like [name_m]William[/name_m] much more than [name_m]Liam[/name_m] but I think with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] it just really works.

My favorite is [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. Handsome combo.

Definitely either [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m]. I don’t think [name_m]Liam[/name_m] does the wonderfully vintage and literary [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] much justice. I think [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] actually has the best flow, and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] and literary associations are awesome anyway, so that’s just a plus.

Agree with this, I try to always craft combos where the names bring out the best in each other. [name_m]Liam[/name_m] just drags [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] down and makes him seem more ordinary or dull, when in fact he is the most rare of the [name_m]Ed[/name_m]- names. [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is a sweet classic combo, very elegant and dignified.
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] is for me a little more playful and has better rhythm, it’s the combo that makes me smile

Congratulations! [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] is one of my favorites and I especially liked the combos [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m]. I’m a [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] fan too

My choice would be [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]; [name_m]Liam[/name_m] is a tad too trendy for me and therefore clashes with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] style-wise; [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] does feel over-the-top and a tad pretentious; [name_m]William[/name_m] seems perfect, very classy, handsome and grounded.
