Last name conundrum

so my fiancé LOVES the name [name_m]Levi[/name_m]… but his last name is [name_m]Levy[/name_m] ([name_u]Lee[/name_u]-vee) …. [name_m]How[/name_m] does [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] sound to you guys?

Middle name would be: [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_m]Jeffery[/name_m].

So. [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_m]Jeffery[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m]

No, definitely don’t do that…

^like I said in the other thread, I say no because it would be always confusing to people. But [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] is ok

I voted for [name_m]Levi[/name_m] in your poll without reading this first…but [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] is too close/confusing.

It doesn’t work, they are way too similar and it would be confusing.

Reminds me of a customer at work ‘[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Evans[/name_m]’…I don’t think you should go with [name_m]Levi[/name_m].

Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s usable. :frowning:
It’s too bad he loves it so much! Maybe you can find a full name for [name_m]Levi[/name_m] and just call him [name_m]Levi[/name_m] as a nickname ([name_m]Leviticus[/name_m]?)? I just think it’s setting him up for a lifetime of mispronunciations, odd looks and “Yeah, I know” responses when he introduces himself and people ask “Really?”. Or you could use it as a middle and call him [name_m]Levi[/name_m]! I think giving him an option of something else to use when he’s older is a good plan. He may get tired of the reactions people give him. Good luck!

Definitely too similar. A pp suggested [name_m]Leviticus[/name_m] and another suggested [name_m]Luke[/name_m], though…they would both work.

As everyone else has said so far, I don’t think that [name_m]Levi[/name_m] is an option for you guys  sorry! It is a great name, though! Maybe [name_m]Eli[/name_m] could work? It has a similar sound to [name_m]Levi[/name_m], but [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] sounds a lot better than [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m].

Oh, I wouldn’t do that. They are a little too close. What about something like [name_m]Livingstone[/name_m] or [name_m]Luke[/name_m]?

[name_m]Levi[/name_m] is a lovely name, but no… don’t do it with your surname. That is just asking for jokes and problems.

No [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] please! Aside from sounding silly, it looks silly too.

Try:
[name_m]Ford[/name_m]
[name_m]Eli[/name_m]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m]
[name_u]Sam[/name_u]

I wouldn’t do it, but it would certainly be memorable i.e. [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m].

Me thinks these might be too close. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] was a good suggestion.

I actually like it but then I like first names and surnames that match.

What about [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m]?

I don’t think it would work, but I knew a kid named Nafe Nafe sooo

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a completely random idea… What if you hyphenated your Surnames with YOUR Surname First, e.g. [name_m]Smith[/name_m]-[name_m]Levy[/name_m]? Then [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]-[name_m]Levy[/name_m] (or whatever your Surname is) would be fine!

I know an actual [name_u]Phil[/name_u] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m]. He’s a weird guy but I guess do what you think is best.

I like it! I think you should use it.
