Laura vs Lauren Vs Laurel

Which do you think is the prettiest? Also, which name would best fit an adult? A child?

I personally think [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] is the prettiest and would suit all ages the best. [name_f]Laura[/name_f] would be my second pick, but she and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] both feel pretty dated to me (Laura less so), so I have a hard time seeing them on children.

I have a young cousin named [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], and while we all thought the name sounded a bit dated when her mother first suggested it we agree it fits her personality perfectly and doesn’t seem old on her at all!

That said, I think [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] is the perfect way to update Laura/Lauren, and sounds beautiful for an adult while remaining wearable for a child.

I love the naturey vibe and softness of [name_u]Laurel[/name_u], so that would be my pick. [name_f]Laura[/name_f] is also beautiful and I would describe it as maybe a little dated but more classic than dated. [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is ok just not my favorite.

I have a soft spot for [name_f]Laura[/name_f] because that’s my best friend’s name, but [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] is my favorite based on meaning and sound. They’re all lovely, but I don’t think [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is quite ready for a comeback IMO.

[name_f]Laura[/name_f] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] are uber 90s names and I know dozens of them!

They are all nice names.

[name_f]Laura[/name_f] has been used a lot, but to me, it remains a solid classic. It has a pretty sound. I also like [name_f]Lara[/name_f], which is more distinctive and less used.

[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] has been used a lot (by women my age), but to me is more of a past trend than a classic. Still a nice name, but maybe a tired name for now.

[name_u]Laurel[/name_u] I adore. It is like [name_f]Laura[/name_f], but fresher and a floral name. I love how it looks and how it sounds. So [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] is my best choice then [name_f]Lara[/name_f] then [name_f]Laura[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Laura[/name_f] – it’s so sweet

I don’t like [name_f]Laura[/name_f] ,I would go with [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] because it’s more unique but [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is pretty too.

I really like [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f]! I think [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] feels slightly more distinctive to me
