Lavender …. And other florals

[name_f][/name_f]

I almost but her in the middle for my first- [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] and I had [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] on my list for my third. I guess while o do think she’s a perfectly gorgeous middle name [name_f][/name_f]- I’ve realised that middles rarely get used and I get braver with each child i name. Fourth would very definately be final so I guess it’s a now or never for the guilty pleasures on my list.

I really love Lavender she’s sweet, warm, homespun and has pretty purple imagery attached. Such a gorgeous floral name that feels outdoorsy and cosy. My daughter has a friend named Lavender and she just goes by Lavender I think the name is beautiful. I love saying her full name. Lavender is gorgeous! I also do not think you need to necessarily shorten the name however I think Liv could work as a nickname or Ren maybe. From your middle name ideas I love Lavender Mary, Lavender Ruth, Lavender Jane and Lavender Kate. All the combinations are beautiful however I think some of the options are a little wordy. Whereas Mary, Ruth, Jane & Kate feel classic with cottagecore imagery attached. I think Lavender is beautiful with your older girls such a beautiful option for your sibling set. I’m swooning.

Regarding Bluebell + Snowdrop I wouldn’t say they are considered vintage in the UK as a Brit they feel more bohemian I would put her with the likes of Meadow & Willow but still they are gorgeous. I find Bluebell more wearable. I think Bluebell is sweet, has pretty floral imagery and the nickname Belle makes her feel more approachable. Bluebell Elizabeth is such a melodic combination really beautiful. Regarding Snowdrop I think she’s fun, whimsy and glittery but not as wearable in my opinion I think Snowdrop warms more to me in the middle spot. Still Snowdrop Jane is pretty and fun to say.

I think you may also like paired with your girls Tansy, Cassiopeia, Jessamine, Zinnia, Dahlia, Cassia, Clover, Hyacinth, Fleur + Calla.

I think you may also like paired with your girls [name_f]Tansy[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f], [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] + [name_f]Calla[/name_f].

[name_f]Love[/name_f] so much [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Sia[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f] nn [name_m]Lucky[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] and [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]

I would never have thought of bluebell and snowdrop as vintage either but I found this thread on [name_f]British[/name_f] baby names and it seems they weren’t uncommon during the Victorian and Edwardian era in a [name_m]Britain[/name_m] which I love :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Ooh, I absolutely love Lavender, especially with Matilda, Aurora, and Delphine. It captures the same quirky feminine nature energy. One small fun fact: Lavender is Matilda’s best friend in the Roald Dahl book Matilda and the film based off it.

My go to Lavender nickname is Indy. But I LOVE Lady and Lava and I really vibe with Vida and Liv.

My top three combos:

Lavender Mary - Really heightens the vintage vibes and gives a lot of grounded energy to the full name. Mary is such an underrated choice and I think it’s genuinely surprising and refreshing. Lavender Jane hits a similar energy for me, I just like the rhythm of Mary that little bit more.

Lavender Juno - I can’t say I love Juno in most cases, but Lavender Juno feels so effortlessly cool. It’s timeless, sharp, high energy and fun.

Lavender Molly - I do like Mary slightly better, but Molly gives such adorable vibes. Feels very youthful, a young girl in the countryside, sitting by a campfire, homemade bread and honey butter. Much more childlike than the other two, but a touch more magical as well.

If I had to suggest a middle to fit in here, maybe Lavender Emma. It’s got the Lavender Mary vibe but a little more modern and I love the sound.

Bluebell could also be a slightly quirkier but strong choice with your sibset. Bluebell Kate is adorable, or Bluebell Grace. Snowdrop feels a step further to the point where I personally think it stands out too much, but it’s still a sweet, evocative name.

Gosh you have such a way with words [name_f][/name_f]- you have really articulated so much of what I’ve been feeling about these names and various name combos in the most incredible way!

I had forgotten that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] had the [name_m]Roald[/name_m] [name_m]Dahl[/name_m] link [name_f][/name_f]- I don’t suppose it matters too much especially with two other siblings in the mix, rather a sweet connection!

That’s really cool :pink_heart:
