We are expecting a baby girl in [name_f]April[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are debating these two names for her. Her middle name will definitely be [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. Her big brother is [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f] sound a little too matchy for my tastes. [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] is close to [name_m]Liam[/name_m], too, but the emphasis is on the [name_f]EL[/name_f] instead of the lee part of the name so I wouldn’t say it’s too close. [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is lovely!
I would agree that [name_m]Liam[/name_m] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f] are a little too close for a brother and sister, and are almost reminiscent of [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Leia[/name_f]. So, I would recommend [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]! Very pretty.
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] outclasses [name_f]Layla[/name_f] in my opinion. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] though is I’m not too keen on [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as a nn due to its popularity. [name_f]Elle[/name_f] would be lovely though.
I agree both are a little hard with [name_m]Liam[/name_m], I prefer [name_f]Layla[/name_f] as a name though and think it’s OK with [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] is beautiful. I like [name_m]Liam[/name_m] and [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] as siblings. I like the sound and flow of [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].
I much prefer [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and I disagree that it’s too close to [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. It’s really not a big deal to use the same first letter. As for [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], I just really don’t care for -iana names myself, I like [name_f]Elena[/name_f] better.
[name_m]Both[/name_m] share sounds with [name_m]Liam[/name_m], but are workable [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. Actually [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] strikes me as more similar overall than [name_f]Layla[/name_f]. [name_f]Layla[/name_f] is just alliterative. Either way if you have a 3rd baby you’ll either keep or break away from the “ia” or “L” trend you’d have going.
Neither are my style. I too prefer [name_f]Elena[/name_f], but I think I’d be more inclined to go with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f].
Neither is ideal with [name_m]Liam[/name_m] but I think I prefer [name_f]Layla[/name_f] (although [name_f]Leila[/name_f] is my favourite spelling of the name). Here are some other suggestions.
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] is on my list and is a gorgeous choice! [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Is very elegant and has a beautiful flow. [name_m]Liam[/name_m] and [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] sounds super cute!
There’s also the name [name_f]Elena[/name_f] which comes from [name_f]Helen[/name_f], my dd’s name. It means light. I just give it in case you want something a little shorter to say. Pronounced e-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-na. (the first e being the e as in elevator or elephant, not a strong sounding e more like ah)
