Layne?

What are everyone’s thoughts on the name [name_u]Layne[/name_u]? [name_m]Will[/name_m] it go out of style? Is it too modern?

I love [name_u]Layne[/name_u] for a girl or boy! It can be short for [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] or [name_f]Elena[/name_f] but can also be used on its own! I think its a name you will hear but not overused!

Layne doesn’t feel modern to me. I’m not personally crazy about it, but the [name_u]Lane[/name_u] spelling is okay.

It’s quite nice. I associate with [name_u]Layne[/name_u] Staley, the lead singer from [name_f]Alice[/name_f] in Chains. He had an amazing voice but a tragic history.

I like [name_u]Layne[/name_u]! It reminds me of the character [name_u]Lane[/name_u] from [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls!

To me, [name_u]Layne[/name_u] seems forced, and [name_u]Laine[/name_u] seems more natural and light.
I love the sound, and think it’s a great choice.

I have never really been a fan of [name_u]Laine[/name_u] but the spelling [name_u]Layne[/name_u] is really growing on me! It feels really fresh and spunky while still being very feminine.

I love [name_u]Layne[/name_u] and [name_u]Laney[/name_u].

I love [name_u]Laine[/name_u] and [name_u]Lane[/name_u] spelling, hate names with unnecessary y and I feel [name_u]Layne[/name_u] is like that!

I like [name_u]Layne[/name_u], but I would spell it [name_u]Lane[/name_u] or [name_f]Lainey[/name_f]. It can also be a nickname for [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], [name_f]Elaina[/name_f], or [name_u]Delaney[/name_u].

Layne is okay. Well-known in Australia because of surfing champ [name_u]Layne[/name_u] Beachley (yes, her real name - how did her parents know?) So [name_u]Layne[/name_u] has always seemed like a beachy kind of name to me!

I really like it, although I do think a Y spelling makes anything look trendy. [name_u]Laine[/name_u] looks more classic, and [name_u]Lane[/name_u] more masculine to me.

I love the [name_u]Layne[/name_u] spelling and much like @voughtlori said, [name_u]Layne[/name_u] Staley is my first thought. His history may not be all well but his legacy is iconic.

Are you pronouncing it lain or lain-ee?

Lainey I think works but [name_u]Layne[/name_u] just makes me think of laying down and the outdated [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] - sorry

Laynne is sweet and cheery

It’s not too modern! I prefer the [name_u]Lane[/name_u] spelling.

I really like it! I would prefer [name_u]Laine[/name_u] or [name_u]Lane[/name_u]!

I really love [name_u]Laine[/name_u]! It’s modern, sleek, and spunky! And [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] is so sweet!

I prefer [name_u]Lane[/name_u], or maybe [name_u]Laine[/name_u], im not crazy about [name_u]Layne[/name_u]
