Leesa, modern or terrible?

Lately I’ve been liking the spelling of the classic [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]: [name_f]Leesa[/name_f]. What do you think, it is a pretty twist on a classic or is it a no-go?

I would say it’s a no-go. It just seems like such an unnecessary spelling for a common name. Maybe you would like [name_f]Liesa[/name_f] (leeza)?

I definitely prefer [name_u]Lisa[/name_u](though it’s a bit dated).

It seems a little too made up for me, i don’t dislike it but if it’s pronounced the same as [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] i think it looks a little awkward?

Terrible. Stick with [name_u]Lisa[/name_u].

Or go with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Annalise[/name_f], Lysette, [name_f]Elisa[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], etc.

Honestly, I don’t love it. I prefer [name_f]Leeza[/name_f] or [name_f]Aleeza[/name_f]. If you want the softer ‘s’ sound, I would stick with the [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] spelling.

I prefer [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]!

I also prefer [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]- though I don’t think it’s horrible. I know Berries tend to like the “traditional” spelling of names, (including me!) but [name_f]Leesa[/name_f] isn’t that bad!

I don’t see how [name_f]Leesa[/name_f] is more modern than [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] if it’s pronounced the same. If you like [name_u]Lisa[/name_u], then I say go with [name_u]Lisa[/name_u].

Unpopular opinion but I kind of like it? [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] feels kinda dated to me, whereas [name_f]Leesa[/name_f] feels younger, fresher, and softer even?

Stick to [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]. I’d also suggest [name_f]Lise[/name_f] and [name_f]Liza[/name_f]!

I actually think it looks really nice, but it would probably misspelled a lot. Their’s also [name_f]Liesl[/name_f], which I absolutely love!

I actually kind of like it! I do think it would be misspelled pretty frequently, but I can see the appeal. [name_f]Leeza[/name_f] also comes to mind–different origin, but a lovely meaning and that zippy “z” sound adds a bit of a modern touch imo.

I’m not a fan. It looks a bit clunky

I also prefer [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] to [name_f]Leesa[/name_f], but [name_f]Liesa[/name_f] is definitely my favourite!

Leesa could work! It’s not my style but I say go with the spelling you like.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Page[/name_u] instead of [name_f]Paige[/name_f]? It has the same way of simplification of the spelling, I think it’s super pretty.

Unless it’s a name where multiple spellings are common*, I don’t see the point. You would just be correcting people your whole life and then some people would mispronounce it. So [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] over [name_f]Leesa[/name_f] and [name_f]Paige[/name_f] over [name_u]Page[/name_u].

*Some names like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]/Madeleine, [name_f]May[/name_f]/Mae, [name_f]Hatty[/name_f]/Hattie.

Leesa looks like a horrible misspelling. I prefer [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]

At first I looked and thought it was awful.

Then I said it a few times in my head while looking at it, and it totally took on a new persona. I’d imagine it more as a nickname for something else, though. Spunky and sassy.

That being said, I wouldn’t do it. She’d have a lifetime of misspellings, and people talking about her strangely warped [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] name.
