Opinions on the name [name]Leilani[/name] please? I like that its not super popular and the fact that it means heavenly flower. I think thats a beutiful meaning but only guessing that its pronounced “[name]LAY[/name]-[name]LANEE[/name]” is that correct? And also NN ideas? [name]TY[/name]!!
I went to school with a Leilani who prn it “lay lah nee” so I think your prn is correct.
FWIW she didn’t have prn issues with her name, everyone knew how to say it.
I think Layla makes a good nn.
Thanks! I didn’t think of [name]Layla[/name] thats a cute nn for it.
[name]Leilani[/name] happens to be my favourite Hawaiian name. I think it’s sweet, and pretty with a bit of exotic flair thrown in for good measure. [name]Leila[/name] would be a lovely nn as well. An added bonus: a girl named [name]Leilani[/name] would also have her own song called “Sweet [name]Leilani[/name]”.
I too went to school with a [name]Leilani[/name] and it was pronounced “[name]LAY[/name]-LAH-NEE” (TX, did we go to the same school?!)
I have not heard it since but it is a great Hawaiian name. We just called her Lei as a nn.
Pickles what year did you graduate?
I don’t love it, but I have seen much worse so it isn’t that bad. Lol ;).
I really like it. Its a little too distinctly Hawaiian for me to ever use, but with a more neutral last name, I think it’s gorgeous!
[name]Layla[/name] would be cute, [name]Lani[/name] would also be a sweet nn.
I love this name. It was my favorite name when I was little!
I like it! My neighbor is a [name]Leilani[/name]. She goes by Lei. I think [name]Lani[/name] (Lah-nee) is a cute nn!
Really like this name. I would do [name]Lani[/name] as a nn. I’d pronounce it the same way you did, too.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Leilani[/name]. If it didn’t sound awful with the surname I probably would have seriously considered using it for DD1. [name]Lay[/name]-law-nee. I’d use [name]Lani[/name] (law-nee not LAN ee) as a nn.
Yeah, I really like it. I’ve heard it quite a lot because it’s a fairly common [name]Pacific[/name] Island name and I’m from that part of the world. DEfinitely [name]Lay[/name] lah nee.
I know a middle aged woman named [name]Leilani[/name]! It is a very nice name, and she never seems to have a problem with it. She also pronounces it lay-LAH-nee.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Leilani[/name], Lei or [name]Lani[/name] would be a nice nn. What do you make of [name]Leila[/name] or [name]Lele[/name] for a nn?
1995 from college …
@Pickles I was still in high school then so not the same [name]Leilani[/name] but still really cool that we both knew one!
