for a girl…too weird?
I think it’s adorable. Many people I know don’t like it.
It is right on the border for me. It is almost fresh, sunshine bright, and candy drop scented.
But then I’m overcome by those teasing voices, “She’s a real [name]Lemon[/name]!” “There’s ol’ sourpuss now!”
I guess you will have to choose which one wins for you. But meanwhile you might want to consider other ideas – [name]Lilac[/name], [name]Lavender[/name], Peach, [name]Cherry[/name], even Framboise.
hm, [name]Lavender[/name] is too old and [name]Cherry[/name] too common, not sure how i feel about [name]Lilac[/name]. I also like the name [name]Olive[/name], for sisters [name]Olive[/name] & [name]Lemon[/name], might illicit teasing…but I like the combo.
I think it’s an adorable nickname, especially for [name]Clementine[/name], but too much for a first name. Could work in the middle though
I don’t know, I’m kind of torn. I do think it’s cute, especially as a nickname. But I think it’s too much of an everyday word for me to ever use it as a name. Like, how often do you find yourself using the word [name]Lilac[/name] or [name]Lavender[/name] or [name]Clementine[/name]? But, personally, I’m a big diet coke with lemon fan, and I’m pretty sure I use the word lemon quite a bit. It’s also like, I don’t think I could ever use the name [name]Story[/name], though I think it’s cute. I’m a writer and almost every day some asks me how my story is going or if I read this story in the NY Times. That’s just me though.
to me [name]Lavender[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] are waaay outdated, so [name]Lemon[/name] is nice and fresh…no pun intended…
I could see where A LOT of puns could come along w/ the name [name]Lemon[/name]. haha. I just think it’s a bright, happy name.
hmmm, I really like the idea of lemon, it’s just so bright and sunny…but I understand your view of clementine being to old.
what about Lillemor ([name]LIL[/name]-leh-MORE) it’s an old swedish name that could definitely lend it’s self the nn [name]Lemon[/name]
hmmm…I stay away from "[name]Lily[/name]"ish names. i just don’t care for them. but i do like the “more” sound at the end.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Sage[/name]? It smells wonderful and manages to be wise and western at the same time. It is not as new as [name]Lemon[/name], so doesn’t seem as fresh, no doubt. But while [name]Lemon[/name] seems very original now, it is one of those names that will fade fast. I’m not saying don’t use it, just commenting. It’s strength lies in its newness. All it will take is a couple of Lemons before everyone joins in the “She’s a [name]Lemon[/name], just like that ol’ '62 [name]Dodge[/name].” jokes.
It is interesting that no one suggested [name]Apple[/name]. I think it might be a case in point. Once that name was used, it was gone.
love [name]Lemon[/name]!
i think it is original and if you love it so much use it! i’m sure your daughter will love her unique name!
