Hello!
One of my female characters is called Illyria (pronounced Ill-ree-ah, ignore the y). My genre is high fantasy, though I don’t think any of my names are too out there (Illyria is one of the weirdest ones).
I have decided I want a longer version of her name so that Illyria is the nickname, but the version she almost exclusively uses. I would like Illyria to be pretty obvious as a part of the longer name, especially since it’s so unusual. My only thoughts so far:
Illyrianna
I’m not going for a particular theme: feminine, masculine, pretentious- anything could work.
Any ideas?

I just added common endings for girls’ names onto Illyria, or came up with variations of it. Since Illyria is already pretty unusual/complicated, the longer versions look a bit crazy. Would having Illyria come from two names work? (ex: [name_f]Illiana[/name_f] [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] “Illyria”) That might be simpler.

I love -eagleeyes- suggestion of [name_f]Illiana[/name_f] [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] as well as Illyrianne and all add on Illyrienne. I’m kind of pulled more towards changing the first letter like wandarine’s suggestion of Marillyria.

I feel like the nickname makes a bit more sense coming from something more complicated; all the people I know who are called only by a nickname use it because it’s shorter and simpler than their birth name.
