Lennon as a girls name?

I love the name [name]Lennon[/name] for a girl and was wondering people’s opinion on the name. She would be joining 5 brothers so don’t want a girly name. Older brothers are [name]Aidan[/name], [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Declan[/name], Krew, and [name]Cassius[/name] (cash). Her middle name would be [name]Cecelia[/name]. Also like [name]Blythe[/name] but last name starts with a b. any other suggestions are welcome. Thx

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] for a girl. For a long time it was my top girl’s name - [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I think [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name] is gorgeous, and the name works well with her brothers’.

I don’t think it’s awful but I don’t care for it mainly because it would bring [name]John[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] and linens to mind, I do however love [name]Cecilia[/name] so maybe [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] would work better? [name]Lillian[/name] might be a nice alternative since it sounds similar.

I love your boys names. I have never really considered [name]Lennon[/name] as a girl’s name, but I can totally see it working with the others, it’s actually very cute!! [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] sounds great to me! Potential nicknames are kind of masculine - [name]Len[/name], [name]Lenny[/name], but I really like [name]Lennon[/name].

good luck!

I like [name]Lennon[/name] better for a girl, its a very cute name choice.

I agree with thetxbelle and prefer [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Lennon[/name]. With those boys names I love more feminine name with the -a at the end would be a nice change but still go well w her brothers names.

I believe there’s a female singer named [name]Lennon[/name]. She was in the news a bit a while ago because she was having legal issues with [name]Yoko[/name] [name]Ono[/name] over her name even though [name]Lennon[/name] is her birth name.

I actually like [name]Lennon[/name] on a girl, and I think that [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name] is a very nice combination.

I would like to point out that [name]Aidan[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] are used much more often for girls than [name]Lennon[/name]. If you told me that you had five boys and a girl and then told me your children’s names, my first guess of “which one is the girl” would be [name]Rowan[/name] followed by [name]Aidan[/name]. That’s something to consider.

Also, I’m confused as to why you say that you don’t want a girly name and then say that her middle name will be [name]Cecelia[/name]. That is a very girly name. I would think that a girl with five brothers would want to be distinguished from all that testosterone and not just become “one of the guys,” which is what naming her [name]Lennon[/name] would do.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I would be afraid that people would assume [name]Rowan[/name] was your daughter and that [name]Lennon[/name] was one your sons (something I doubt either child would appreciate). I do love [name]Cecilia[/name] though. If you want your daughter to have a more boyish name, I would suggest giving her a female name with a masculine nickname. Something along the lines of [name]Lenore[/name], nickname [name]Lenny[/name], for example.

I know a little [name]Lennon[/name] who’s a girl. It’s not my style but it does work fine. I agree though with the 5 brothers I actually think a distinctly feminine name is nice, especially since some of the boys have names with some uni use. I don’t think it’s like a huge imperative if [name]Lennon[/name] is the perfect name for you, but it’s a thought. I also like [name]Linden[/name], like the tree, which maybe sounds a little more feminine because it sounds like [name]Linda[/name] and [name]Lindsay[/name].

I really like [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]! Were you saying you like [name]Blythe[/name] for a first or a middle? [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] is really nice, and I think alliteration can work. My surname starts with B too and I have no issue with B names in the middle spot. And I think B names can work with good alliteration with B last names. I’ve known several Brandons with B last names and it sounds good. I mean if your last name has other sound overlap with [name]Blythe[/name] that’s too much but [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Barker[/name] or something is alliteration that works to me.

[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Linnea[/name] ([name]Lynn[/name]-AY-a)? Pretty flower to my name. [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]?

[name]Lennon[/name] makes me think of sour lemons. :frowning: [name]London[/name] would be nicer imo. [name]London[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name].

MY FAVE at the moment!!! I would [name]LOVE[/name] to see it used!!!

This video changed my opinion on the name Lennon on a girl: Lennon & Maisy // "Call Your Girlfriend" // Robyn & Erato - YouTube It’s two sisters singing a duet together. Their names are Lennon and Maisy Stella.

I would consider Lennon for a boy or a girl.

Leni is a nickname for girls in other countries and I’ve always liked it.

You might also consider Lennox. You could use Lexi or Nox as nickname options.

I think it’s a bit rude to tell the OP that [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Aidan[/name] are girls names when she’s already stated those are her son’s names.
Personally,I never take a guess with [name]Rowan[/name] re gender,it’s unisex and I would presume [name]Aidan[/name] was a boy.

[name]Lennon[/name] would fit with your son’s names, definitely. I do think it’s a big name for a child, like being called [name]Elvis[/name]/[name]Presley[/name]. Most people will think of the [name]John[/name] [name]Lennon[/name]. I think that’s a cross generational thing too,I’m 24 and know his music,my 12 year old cousin does too. So that would be my personal concern.

I do also think that [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] flows ever so slightly better too. But [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] doesn’t sound bad at all by the same token.

I agree with some of the other posters. If I already had a bunch of boys I’d want my only daughter’s name to stand out, not blend it.
[name]Lennon[/name] is just OK but since you already have 3 kids that end in -n, I think it sounds redundant. What about [name]Lennox[/name]? It’s not “girly” yet feels more feminine than the others and gives her a different sound to separate her from the boys

I think the name [name]Lennon[/name] is too attached to [name]John[/name] [name]Lennon[/name]. I can’t help but feel someone naming their child this is trying way too hard to be cool. I think it’s an embarrassing name on a girl.

My personal preference would be [name]Lennox[/name] or Linen over [name]Lennon[/name]. I also love [name]Blythe[/name], but not so much [name]Cecilia[/name]. JMO…

I tend to read [name]Lennon[/name] as [name]Lemon[/name] for some reason so that puts me off the name. I can’t understand why you wouldn’t want her to stand out as the girl after five boys, there are plenty of girls’ names that are feminine but not frilly if that’s your style. Something short and simple - you say you like [name]Blythe[/name], what about [name]Greer[/name], [name]Sloane[/name], [name]Paige[/name] - all girls’ names but nowhere near your Lilyannabella type names.

With your four boys I think a more feminine name would be more my style. I tend to read [name]Lennon[/name] and think of [name]John[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] which while awesome, it’s nms to give names that so obviously suggest a particular person. My second thought then is (like @essjay) [name]Lemon[/name]. I however like [name]Lemon[/name] on a girl (provided her mn doesn’t turn into Lime. [name]Lemon[/name] Lime. ;p). I think [name]Lemon[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name] would be very cute, and I’d prefer it over [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name]. Though [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name] is a fine choice.

[name]Lennon[/name] for a girl is a guilty pleasure for me…something I’d never actually do, but would love to see done! (Actually, it has been done, and I like it! [name]Lennon[/name] Parham is an actress and comedienne. Not sure if she was born “[name]Lennon[/name]” or used a middle name, a la [name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon.) In your situation, however, with 5 boys, including at least one of whom’s name is used by both genders (I’m thinking [name]Rowan[/name]), I’d actually be looking to make sure my girl’s name would be clearly feminine. If you told me all those names and said one of them was a girl, I’d think [name]Rowan[/name] before I’d think [name]Lennon[/name]. What about [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] rather than [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name]?
