So I love [name]Leo[/name], always have! Ideally, either the first or middle name of my future children will be literary. (For instance, [name]Leo[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] Albus). I’m a big [name]Narnia[/name] fan, and [name]Lucy[/name] has always been my favorite character. However, with [name]Leo[/name], is it too close? Sometimes, when I say them, it sounds fine, but other times I almost sound like I’m stuttering! I can’t think of a name I can sit with as well as [name]Lucy[/name]
If [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] work well…what middle name would work well with [name]Lucy[/name]?
[name]Leo[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] make a fine pair! Sure, they both begin with “L” but then sound different the rest of the way! Does that make sense? [name]Leo[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] is a great combination. Here are some suggestion for [name]Lucy[/name]'s middle name.
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Bernadette[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Dolores[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Garnet[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Geraldine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mirabel[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Maude[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Ramona[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Valentine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Theodora[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Delilah[/name]
This is very funny, because my daughter’s name is [name]Lucy[/name], and I’m expecting my third baby now and if this is a boy, his name will be [name]Leo[/name]. My only concern is that they both start with L, and our oldest’s name doesn’t, his name is [name]Noah[/name]. But other than the fact that they both start with L, I don’t think they’re too similar at all!
[name]Leo[/name] rules out [name]Leah[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] would rule out [name]Louis[/name]. But [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] don’t rule each other out.
Oh, I’m glad you like [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Claire[/name]. [name]Both[/name] have an antique charm about them and would be wonderful paired with [name]Leo[/name] [name]Atticus[/name]!
Bumping this old thread up because this is our current dilemma…
We’ve got less than 2 weeks until baby girl’s arrival and she is still not named. Eek! Big brother is named [name]Leo[/name].
I still love [name]Jane[/name] but I am never going to convince my husband on that one. We had kind of compromised at [name]Zoe[/name] because I was starting to freak out that she didn’t have a name, but something about [name]Zoe[/name] isn’t doing it for me. Other names we are still poking around are [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Audrey[/name], and [name]Susannah[/name] (my husband likes this one, but I’m not crazy about it).
This week I’ve been coming back around to really loving the name [name]Lucy[/name], which is one that we both have mentioned over the last few months. I would be the last person on earth who would do matchy-matchy sibling names on purpose, including alliterative names. The matchy factor is one of the things that I think is bugging me about [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name]. Somehow I think it’s actually better with [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name], even though they both start with L.
My husband is still not totally convinced and thinks they are too similar.
I was in the same boat! If you’d have asked me Before, I would have said I’d Never give kids Matchy-names. But, time changes and things happen…lol. Here we are with a [name]Conor[/name], and b/g twins on the way. [name]Cormac[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]. There’s a whole lot of matchy going on there. But, it wasn’t on Purpose. I didn’t set out to be matchy. And, I had a GREAT deal of dilemma about it. In the end, we decided to just go for it. The names were thought of separately. We both love them each, separately. It’s Very hard to find a name that both parents feel the same way about. In the end, if you both really like it, I say use it no matter what. And now after I let myself talk myself into doing it (after WEEKS of pouring over name lists and driving myself and my husband crazy), I realized that no other names gave me those same feelings. And now, I’m 100%, absolutely, content and happy with the choices. My husband never wavered on it. He couldn’t understand why I all of a sudden had a problem with it.
Names stick with a child for life, but there’s No way to predict how they’ll feel about a name. All any of us can do is pick one that we like and hope they’ll like it too. It’s a risk with each and every name out there. Go with what you feel. Starting out life with a sweet name that both of your parents enjoy saying, and happily agreed on to help you begin your life, is a great gift.
Also…these names are for life, not just for when they are little. Their names will be said together a lot now, but less and less the older they get. If you choose [name]Lucy[/name] or [name]Zoe[/name] or anything else, it’s not going to be as strongly connected to [name]Leo[/name] through the next (hopefully) 100 years of their lives, as it will be during this first bit.
And, I’d love to know what you decide on in the end!
