Leonard?? Too "old man"?

Both my great grandfather and great great grandfather were called [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]. Now i find [name_m]George[/name_m] a very plain/boring name and [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] sounds like an old man to me but together they seem to sound ok. I keep wanting to say the names together like a double name though. What does everyone think of the name. No offense will be taken so dont worry!

I like [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]. with so many ‘old’ names coming back into style I could see it working, plus you could use the nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I don’t think it works as well as a double name, it’s a little too heavy.

I think [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is cool! Edgy vintage, but with accessible nicknames [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] built in.

We considered [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] to get to the nickname [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is not an “old man” name that’s come back into style yet, but its day may very well be coming, so you could be on the cutting edge!

I love [name_m]George[/name_m], by that way!

I love [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]. There are so many other [name_m]Leo[/name_m] names that are now gaining in popularity, but not the humble [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] (well not yet anyway!) I really do see a comeback for this name. If it doesn’t bother you that he may be one of many [name_m]Leo[/name_m]'s, I say go for it!

I really like both [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] and [name_m]George[/name_m]. Together and separately.

I. adore. [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]. Classy and cool. Handsome and urbane. No need for [name_m]Leo[/name_m] or [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] if you prefer the full name.

I have always loved [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] and [name_m]George[/name_m]. I think they work perfectly together, but it could be a mouth full if you use it as a double name.

Babies do grow up to become old(er) men…

I think [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]/[name_m]George[/name_m]/[name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] are fine.

[name_m]George[/name_m] is my Dad’s middle name and I did not use it when I was having babies. I do think I would consider it now for a middle.

I like [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] a lot and I do not see old man at all…Maybe [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] Nimoy who played Spock…but I never knew anyone named that ever.

As to the double barreled name [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m], I think it works fine. A long name to spell but not really to say. My DH is [name_m]Louie[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and it has the same Syllables.

I will always be reminded of the episode of the Big Bang [name_m]Theory[/name_m] when [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is laminating about being a nerd, and saying, “It’s right there in my name! [name_m]Len[/name_m]-NERD!” and being devastated.

[name_m]Leonard[/name_m] always makes me think of [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] Nimoy, which is a super-positive connotation for me. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] would be a great everyday name if you didn’t want to use [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] all the time. [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] is too Of Mice & Men for me, but that’s just me.

I love [name_m]George[/name_m]. [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is a tad old man, but I adore the old man names! Nickname [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is awesome!
