[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] is out because too many family members are fixated on the fact that it “sounds like a disease” (idas rhymes with itis. As in bronchitis.) It makes me worry he’ll hear that his entire life and resent his name, even though his dad and I find the name incredibly strong.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] though we liked [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], it was only because it was the only name we could agree on as a couple.
I like word names, playful names, badass names, and old classics that are so old, they’ve become unique. ([name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Beau[/name_m], [name_u]Lucky[/name_u], [name_m]Rocky[/name_m], [name_m]Solomon[/name_m])
Hubby likes epic names, names from mythology, any name that is rich with history. (Ares, [name_m]Achilles[/name_m], [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m])
We can meet half way on some names… we [name_m]BOTH[/name_m] like [name_m]Maverick[/name_m](but I HATE nickname rick) , [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Rocky[/name_m], [name_m]Stone[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (can’t use jack.) Atlas, Theodore or Theo.
A word name/noun name for either first or middle is a bonus but not necessary.
Our son will be here this winter and he has a big sister named [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]. We call her Penny usually. Were very fond of having a nickname. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! We feel like we’ve seen every name and have to settle at this point so maybe some new perspective is needed
The names listed are names we love but feel like they aren’t “THE ONE”.
