Leonie and Paloma?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, I have the task of naming twin girls (coming in [name_u]August[/name_u]) and was thinking [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] they flow well together? Any classic yet unusual middle name ideas? Thanks!

Both of those names are beautiful! They flow really well together! In terms of middle names I thought of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_u]Romany[/name_u], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Esther[/name_f].

[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] especially with the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation

[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] feels [name_m]French[/name_m] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] feels Spanish, but they can work together with the matching L and O sounds. It is cute that they both have animal meanings (although I think of pigeons for [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] which isn’t ideal).

[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] & [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] & [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f] & [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] & [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Callista[/name_f] & [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]

@sarah1800 - I’m pretty sure [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] means “[name_u]Dove[/name_u]” and is associated with peace?

[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] are stunning and work wonderfully together!

[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Mazarine[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Marisol[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_u]Bliss[/name_u]

[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Eponine[/name_f]

Yep, @coddiwomple is correct, [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] means “dove” and is associated with peace. [name_m]Hence[/name_m] the pigeon association. I went to high school with a girl named [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and always thought it was really cool! To date she is still one of the most objectively interesting people I know.

I think [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] complement each other really nicely. I like that they both have a strong O sound and feel sophisticated but are otherwise very different. Really well-balanced names for twins.

For middles, I’d be tempted to follow @sarah1800’s pattern and pick something that ends in -A as [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]'s middle and something that doesn’t as [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]'s middle, so they’re inverses of each other: [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], for example.
