I am wondering which spelling you guys like best? Which spelling works best in the UK? [name_f]Do[/name_f] they have the same origin? Lastly which spelling pairs better with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Leora[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Liora[/name_f]?
I think the names do have the same origin; according to their pages on Nameberry, [name_f]Leora[/name_f] is a variation of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Liora[/name_f] is an alternate spelling. I think [name_f]Leora[/name_f] has more vintage charm, and [name_f]Liora[/name_f] looks more modern and sleek. I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Leora[/name_f] is the better combo.
I can’t really explain why I feel this way, but [name_f]Liora[/name_f] to me seems like a first name and [name_f]Leora[/name_f] seems more versatile.
Also, aside from that, [name_f]Liora[/name_f] seems very sleek and modern, as was said before, but also, it seems more “new-money” and [name_f]Leora[/name_f] feels more “old-money”, even though that’s a horrible way to phrase it.
[name_f]Leora[/name_f]. [name_f]Liora[/name_f] doesn’t look right to me for some reason, and could have the challenge of mispronunciation ([name_m]Ly[/name_m]-ora).
[name_f]Liora[/name_f]. I hate the [name_f]Leora[/name_f] spelling. It reminds of areola and it just feels less beautiful and Christmasy, which is what I usually love about the name. Which is funny because I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
I like [name_f]Liora[/name_f]. The [name_f]Leora[/name_f] spelling is too old-fashioned for my taste. [name_f]Liora[/name_f] also looks nicer next to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], at least in my eyes.
[name_f]Leora[/name_f]/ [name_f]Liora[/name_f] is a common Jewish name meaning my light. It’s my daughters name. It is more commonly [name_f]Liora[/name_f] now in [name_m]Israel[/name_m]. I like the modern spelling with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Leora[/name_f] has a romantic antique feel to me. It was also common as [name_f]Leora[/name_f] at the turn of the 19th century
