Lester

What are people’s thoughts on the name [name_m]Lester[/name_m] for a boy please? [name_f]My[/name_f] husband just suggested it and I feel like it may be a contender.
We like unusual but easy to pronounce names.

i’m not a fan of the sound (it’s pretty harsh) but if you guys are, then i think it’s fine. my first associations are paul lester (although i’m not sure who that is lol) and adrian lester. I prefer other surname names

I know a [name_m]Lester[/name_m] ! and i’ve always thought that it was a pretty cool name !

[name_m]Lester[/name_m] is pretty cool

Cool, I image some cool mysterious guy in a Victorian mansion

I think there is a lot of teasing potential with [name_m]Lester[/name_m] (at least, if you’re in an English-speaking country) because it rhymes with molester.

I agree with the previous poster. ‘Molester’, unfortunately, was my first thought.

I love [name_m]Chester[/name_m] and [name_m]Nestor[/name_m], but not [name_m]Lester[/name_m]!

Yeah, unfortunately I have an instinctively negative reaction to the boys names that rhyme with–ester for this reason, and [name_m]Lester[/name_m] is the closest of all

Maybe another retro L name, like [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] or [name_m]Lloyd[/name_m], or another two syllable ending in r, like [name_m]Lander[/name_m]?

I would avoid, it’s too easy for this to become molester.

I agree with @Harvest-Endellion. I like [name_m]Chester[/name_m] better. I also love [name_m]Kester[/name_m]! [name_m]Kester[/name_m] would be a good alternative to [name_m]Lester[/name_m].

I really like the nn [name_u]Les[/name_u] for a boy, so I kind of like [name_m]Lester[/name_m], but I personally prefer the full name [name_u]Leslie[/name_u] for a boy to get there.

I’m not a fan due to the [mo]lester similarity. What about [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]?

Lol I would never have though this! I did think of fester…

It’s got a bit of a grunge music/ hipster/ creepy janitor (I’m sorry I know janitors are generally not creepy!). I feel divided about it. It’s walking the line between cool and creepy for me. I think that people would really grow to love a real live [name_m]Lester[/name_m] though since it’s fun to say.
