What do you think of the name [name_f]Brenda[/name_f]?
Lets all talk about it…
By the way I love the name [name_f]Brenda[/name_f]!
I can’t fathom anyone using this on a baby.
Too dated in my opinion.
I think [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] is adorable! Name popularity tends to be cyclical, so [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] has a good chance to come back into fashion. Obviously, babies have been named [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] before, and they will be again.

I don’t like it, sorry. The sound of it and the image of it in my head are quite disturbing…
I’m not fond of [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] as I just find it too dated, bland and heavy for a modern child. I can only picture the name on a woman over 50 – I’ve never met nor seen the name used on anyone younger than that myself. I think too that I tend to dislike a lot names with B and R (and D) sounds all together as I do think it makes for a heavy name and a lot of the time, to me, they feel aged – like [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]/[name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Branwen[/name_f], [name_f]Breanne[/name_f] or [name_f]Barbara[/name_f]. Also, when I hear [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] too, I tend to think of the word ‘bender’ which isn’t the best association.
That said, if you like it, it’s really not a bad name – it’s just not my own style. It feels quite Viking-esque in a way, due to similar sounds, like in Brynhildr. Also, you could modernise it some with nickname [name_u]Ren[/name_u] (or [name_f]Bea[/name_f]).
I think it is ok. I am closer to liking it than disliking it. I prefer [name_f]Brenna[/name_f], but really like [name_f]Brinna/name_f and even Brienne.
I, too, much prefer [name_f]Brenna[/name_f] or Brienne to [name_f]Brenda[/name_f], as it just screams “[name_u]Baby[/name_u] Boomer” and “I’m about to collect Social Security” to me. However, depending on where you live, this might not be a big deal. If you are really head over heels in love with it, it’s not for any of us to tell you otherwise.
I actually know a girl my age named [name_f]Brenda[/name_f], and she wears it really easily so it doesn’t seem weird or dated to me.
[name_f]Brenda[/name_f] makes me think of a 40-something year old woman.
I don’t think it’s a bad name but I can’t imagine a little baby with the name.
[name_f]Brenda[/name_f] is my grandmothers name, I love the name because I love her. People have used the name for babies before, it would be great to see [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] make a come back.
I know Brendas from 20-60 years old and personally I prefer it over the more modern variations. I agree that [name_u]Ren[/name_u] and [name_f]Bea[/name_f] are cute nns!
I think too that I tend to dislike a lot names with B and R (and D) sounds all together as I do think it makes for a heavy name and a lot of the time, to me, they feel aged – like [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]/[name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Branwen[/name_f], [name_f]Breanne[/name_f] or Barbara
My sentiments exactly.
I know one [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] in her 30s. I know two others who are older. I do agree that it’s a bit dated, but I much prefer it to some other names making a comeback, like [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], and [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], all of which read very old lady to me.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Brenda[/name_f]!
I don’t like the name [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] personally. I have past experiences with people who have that name that weren’t so pleasant so I get bad feelings when I hear it or see it. This doesn’t mean it would be a bad choice though for a future child… I just wouldn’t use it.
