[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is a name that I have on my list for girls for YEARS. My fiance and I were talking about baby names last night and he said that while he may be “okay” with some of the other names I mention, [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is THE NAME for him, meaning, when we try for a baby in [name_f]October[/name_f] and if it turns out to be a girl, he can’t imagine any other name BUT [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. While I do love this name and I can see myself using it on a future daughter, I’m trying to get a sense of what other names go with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I’ve never been able to narrow down [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]'s “feel” to me. For example, when I think of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (another long favorite) I think of the names [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] almost immediately because they all have the same feel to me. With [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] I can’t seem to decide what names I like best with it.
My current top three includes [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]…but I feel like these names don’t gel together. [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] seems long and gorgeous, but the nickname [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] keeps it kind of sweet and charming. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] has always just felt kind of quirky to me. And [name_f]Olive[/name_f] always just seems kind of vintage and charming.
Of [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f], which name do you like better with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]? Both? Neither?
What girl names do you see with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you see it as being quirky, vintage, charming, classic, etc? Some suggestions are definitely needed. I think if I could just find a kick ass sister name to [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], it would seal the deal for me.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] would be great sister names! They’re all strong and spunky while still being sweet, with no immediate nns coming to mind! I think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] would be lovely!
My favourite name with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I just think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] are just meant to sisters. From your signature, I like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] go really well together and although [name_f]Olive[/name_f] isn’t the exact same “feel”, I think it fits as well. [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are both favorites of mine so I can’t choose which one I like better, recently probably [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] has been on my list for a while as well.
Other names I like with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]:
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
I love Daphne! I’ve always loved it! Vivian sounds best with Daphne. I think Daphne is classic, romantic, and underused. I love the suggestion of Genevieve and Juliet Others you may like with Daphne are.

I love the suggestion of [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] Others you may like with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are.
I think both [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] would go nicely with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is a nice middle ground between feminine and spunky.
I’d personally pick [name_f]Olive[/name_f] though
In my mind [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is always linked with [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. Soft and mythical but still with a quiet strength.
I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], it’s such a beautiful name. I’ve always seen it as the spunky name. I think both [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] would fit together with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], though I like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] more. Some names that I personally link with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_f]Corinne[/name_f], and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. I think each of these names give off the vibe of strong, no fuss, and spunky. Which is what I see with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] feels very quirky and vintage to me. I really think it’s refreshing! I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] as a sister for [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
I agree with mischa that [name_f]Iris[/name_f] goes very well with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] also sound lovely together.
My suggestion would be the spunky [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]; although I may be biased since I think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] goes perfectly with almost everything
I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and I always want to pair her with [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. I agree that there is some quirk to[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] even though it is such a classic name and therefore I think [name_f]Olive[/name_f] just pips [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] as the best match - although I do really like beautiful [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] too.
I do love the name [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and it was on my list a few years ago. Unfortunately, my parents’ neighbor is named [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and she is…not a very nice lady. Now, no matter how the name comes up or in what context, my parents kind of cringe when it’s said and I do as well. I’m so upset because it is such a gorgeous name, but I can’t get the association of their neighbor out of my mind.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who commented with suggestions and opinions. You can’t imagine how relieved I feel that not only did a majority of you love my top three, but some of you suggested gorgeous names that have always been on my radar, but that I wasn’t sure if they fit with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or not. I’ve made a huge list now for my fiance and I to look over when we do get pregnant after our fall wedding.
Keep more suggestions coming, but again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
