Let's talk about Lena...

So I really like the name [name_f]Lena[/name_f], with the lee-nuh pronunciation. Sometimes I wonder if it needs a more formal name and other times I love it on its own.

The other day I stumbled upon [name_f]Elina[/name_f], which I pronounced eh-lee-nuh and wanted to know your thoughts. I think it’s pretty, but does the spelling look weird? Nn could be [name_f]Lina[/name_f].

So, if I were pronouncing the name lee-nuh, would you go with [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Lina[/name_f]?

Does [name_f]Elina[/name_f]/[name_f]Alena[/name_f] seem dated? Is the pronunciation intuitive?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I also really like the name [name_f]Lena[/name_f]. I was thinking that it might be a cute nickname for [name_f]Helena[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Lina[/name_f] with that pronunciation

I’ve never heard another way to pronounce [name_f]Lena[/name_f], and I’ve loved it since I did a book report on [name_f]Lena[/name_f] Horne in primary school. Because of that, I don’t think it needs to be a nn.

I love [name_f]Lena[/name_f]. And that’s how i would pronounce it. If you want a longer name [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is beautiful. But so is [name_f]Elina[/name_f].
