Disclaimer: not TTC or expecting, just name collecting
I’ve loved the name Stephanie since I was a little girl - it’s always felt so sweet to me, and I view it as a bit classic - it’s been in the US top 1000 for over 100 years. I’d love to have a little Stephanie someday, but I know a lot of people view it as very 70s/80s/90s (depending on who you ask).
I guess I have a couple of questions I’d like to ask about Stephanie;
I love short, sweet, 1-2 syllable middles (think fillers and flowers! Grace, Lily, Ava, Eva, Marie, Rae, Mae, etc.). Are there any that can maybe update Stephanie a little bit? I did like Stephanie Renee but that does feel very 1980s.
What would you suggest as a sister name to Stephanie?
Names we can’t use: Amy, Tanya, Charlotte, Makayla, Molly, Vanessa, Megan, Kendra, Ashley, Amanda, Casey, Hailey, Elizabeth
Stephanie Claire was my first thought for a middle name.
Stephanie Violet
Stephanie Faith
Stephanie Hazel
Stephanie Hope
Stephanie Rose
Stephanie Belle
Stephanie Fay
Stephanie Louise
Stephanie Jane
Stephanie Pearl
I imagine Stephanie’s sisters to be Jennifer, Michelle, Jessica, Danielle, Nicole, Kimberly, Melissa, or Melanie.
I would suggest:
Stephanie Luna
Stephanie Clara
Stephanie Alice
Stephanie Lilah
Stephanie Giselle
Stephanie Colette
Stephanie Corinne
Stephanie Joy
Stephanie Maeve
Stephanie Camille
Thank you! Stephanie Eve, Stephanie Blaire, Stephanie Rose and Stephanie Carys are gorgeous! For sister names, Kendall, Eleanor (not sure if I can use it though as my cousin has a little Eleanor I see a few times a year), Louisa, Christina, Julia & Georgina are so nice!
Oh, Stephanie April, Stephanie Kate, Stephanie Brooke, Stephanie London, Stephanie Jade, Stephanie Lana, Stephanie Laura, Stephanie Reese, Stephanie Georgia, Stephanie Myla and Stephanie Leah are gorgeous!
I love Katie, Heather, Courtney, Lauren, Abigail/Abby, Eden, Kimberly, Paige, Mallory and Olivia! Thank you!
I come from that generation and I knew A LOT of Stephanies. They ALL went by Steph. Boring. However, I always liked the nickname Stevie and I’m starting to like some names that people would find boring for their generation as well (i.e. Anna, Marie, Annemarie). It could definitely be seen as fresh and different for kids being born today because they’d most likely be the only one. I do think you need to have a bit of an unexpected middle name to pull Stephanie out of he 70’s/80’s/90’s stigma, though.
Stephanie Elle
Stephanie Alice
Stephanie Iris
Stephanie Lola
Stephanie Piper
Stephanie Isla
Stephanie Wren
Stephanie Dinah
Stephanie Cora
Stephanie Maia
I’ve been back and forth with my name for a long time. When I was a kid I hated it, especially when learning to spell. Too many letters, I said. Mom suggested we change it to Mud, so that changed my tune pretty quickly.
[name_f]My[/name_f] middle name is [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], which I’ve always liked. Briefly considered changing my name to that or just going by [name_u]Brooke[/name_u].
Never really liked [name_u]Steph[/name_u] as a nickname, it always sounded so harsh to my ear. Some close family called me Stephie, but I don’t like that much either. I missed the “[name_u]Stevie[/name_u]” train entirely.
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom had [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] all picked out until I was born. Which I think makes a perfect sister to [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]. [name_f]April[/name_f] and [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] were also on the table for me.
[name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] [name_u]Harlow[/name_u], [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f], and [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] [name_f]Gisele[/name_f] all sound beautiful.
For sisters, I could see [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Maryanne[/name_f], [name_f]Danielle[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
