Needing help for a boy’s name: What do you think of the names [name_m]Lev[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], or [name_m]Aren[/name_m]? Hoping [name_m]Aren[/name_m] is pronounced “[name_m]AH[/name_m]-ren”, as I’m not keen on [name_m]AAron[/name_m].
Loooove [name_u]Elias[/name_u]!
All good names!
[name_m]Lev[/name_m] - I see that it means “heart” in Hebrew. I love it. It’s easy to read & spell, uncommon, cool. I would probably call him Levvy/Levvie or something as a baby as it strikes me as a very grown-up, manly kind of name.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] - I’ve liked this name for a long time! I’m not as taken with the meaning of it as I am with [name_m]Lev[/name_m]. But to me I can see it on a little boy as well as a father.
[name_m]Aren[/name_m] - I like the sound of it with the “ah-ren” pronunciation. But it is something to consider that throughout his life people who read it before it is said to them will probably always say it like [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and then he has to correct them…it might get old.
So…I don’t think I could decide between [name_m]Lev[/name_m] & [name_u]Elias[/name_u] without considering middle & last name combination!
I really like the [name_m]AH[/name_m]-ren pronunciation of [name_m]Aren[/name_m]. However I agree that it will be a lifetime of correcting people. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Oren[/name_m] at all?
I love the name [name_u]Elias[/name_u], but more popular, so I think maybe I’d vote for [name_m]Lev[/name_m]. It’s cute and handsome at the same time!
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] - love! great name
[name_m]Lev[/name_m] - nice name, I personally prefer [name_m]Levi[/name_m], but [name_m]Lev[/name_m] is nice as well
[name_m]Aren[/name_m] - meh, it’s okay. Honestly, at first look I’d probably assume it was a yooneek spelling of [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]. What about [name_u]Ari[/name_u]?
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] is my favourite name of the three choices. [name_m]Lev[/name_m] and [name_m]Aren[/name_m] may be legitimate names in your culture but to my English eyes one is lacking an “i” or “e” ([name_m]Levi[/name_m]/[name_m]Liev[/name_m]) and the other just looks misspelled.
I like all three names. I almost picked [name_u]Elias[/name_u] as part of my son’s name, so I’ve researched the name quite a bit and think it’s a great choice!
I like [name_m]Aren[/name_m] too and it doesn’t strike me as related to [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] at all, it’s a different name to me.
[name_m]Lev[/name_m] is nice but strikes me as Jewish, in the sense that it might slightly confuse me to see it on a non-Jewish person. But maybe you are Jewish, so this would be a moot point? What do you think of [name_m]Len[/name_m]?
I love [name_m]Lev[/name_m]. Masculine, cute, cool, different. A great boy name! [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is also very, very nice- I just prefer [name_m]Lev[/name_m]. The inconcsistent pronunciation issue of [name_m]Aren[/name_m] would bug me too much to use it. All great choices though!
Thinking on all this…
I love the meaning of [name_m]Lev[/name_m], “heart” (Hebrew) and also “lion” (Russian). I am not Jewish, his father does have some Russian heritage.
Also considering [name_m]Jens[/name_m], though again the Scandinavian and American pronunciations are different.
[name_m]Wes[/name_m]?
Thanks for the help!
Last name is Kellogg, middle name may be Eriksen or one of the names not chosen for a first name.
[name_m]Lev[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] Kellogg?
[name_m]Lev[/name_m] makes me think it is [name_m]Levi[/name_m] and someone forgot to put the I at the end.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] is super cute, sounds sophisticated and traditional but new at the same time
[name_m]Aren[/name_m]- when I first read it i thought it would be pronounced [name_m]AARON[/name_m]… It is a cute name but it will be a constant correcting of people and having to spell it out.
I know an [name_m]Aren[/name_m], but it’s a girl and she spells it Arryn.
I love [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] so from your choices I like [name_u]Elias[/name_u] the best. [name_m]Lev[/name_m] feels incomplete to me and [name_m]Aren[/name_m] looks like a misspelling of [name_m]Aaron[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Lev[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. [name_m]Lev[/name_m] Eriksen sounds good too, but (or maybe because) it’s very close to [name_m]Leif[/name_m] [name_m]Ericson[/name_m] (the explorer).
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] is my favorite you have listed.
[name_m]Lev[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is a cute combo though.
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t really care too much for [name_m]Lev[/name_m], personally.
[name_m]Aren[/name_m] is cute pronounced that way, but I feel like you’d have to correct
a ton of people, I myself, before reading pronounced it [name_m]Aaron[/name_m].
I second the suggestion of [name_m]Oren[/name_m].
