We unintentionally matched the names of our first two kids ([name_m]Zo[/name_m]ë and [name_u]Owen[/name_u]) and so purposefully avoided another “o” sound with our #3, and went with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. Another short name with a W, but it still feels a little mismatched to me compared to the other two.
Now, as we start thinking about adding a #4, I am already trying to brainstorm names that will fit with our family, but especially pair well with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m].
[name_u]June[/name_u] comes to mind for a girl, but my husband finds it dull. I would love some new ideas!
I really like [name_u]June[/name_u] with your sibset. Jazzier alternatives might be [name_f]Junia[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], or [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. I’d stick with something on the shorter side.
Some other possibilities:
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], and
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] to [name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] to [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to [name_f]Charis[/name_f]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to [name_m]Harris[/name_m]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to [name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_f]ZOe[/name_f]- [name_u]Owen[/name_u]- [name_m]LeWis[/name_m] - [name_f]Inez[/name_f] ( for a girl…contains z from [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], N from [name_u]Owen[/name_u], I from [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] & e from all 3) [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], Windslow, [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_m]Conway[/name_m], [name_u]Howard[/name_u], wyatt, [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Edward[/name_m], maxwell… Contain w like the other 2 boys…
Two of my current favorite girl names are [name_f]Kira[/name_f] or [name_f]Chiara[/name_f], but I think those two are much closer to the “[name_m]Zo[/name_m]ë” side of things, and would push [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] even further out.
Loving some of the boys names on this thread- they are so much harder for me than girl names! Wondering if [name_m]Simon[/name_m] would work with a last name that is also two syllabus and starts with “S”
Yes, when I try to think about it as calmly as possibly, I probably wouldn’t end up using those names despite loving them. So many of my friends and family have a set of matching names and then one oddball at the end, which I don’t love. Thank goodness for nameberry to help both brainstorm and cull the truly strange
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and [name_u]Reid[/name_u]. [name_u]Reid[/name_u] shares and “e” with all the names, and shares an “i” with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. Plus I think they sound great together
I love the name [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]! It was my great-grandfather’s name. He had three sons with the following names:
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Richard[/name_m]
[name_m]Anton[/name_m]
He had a daughter named [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].
I feel like you need a name with a vintage feel to go with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m].
IF YOU HAVE A GIRL:
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] to [name_u]Owen[/name_u],
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] to [name_m]Lewis[/name_m],
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to …
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Libby[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (Is that too matchy with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]?)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
*I am a fan of the three-letter names because then your daughter would also have a tie to her sister. It all kind of comes full circle!
IF YOU HAVE A BOY:
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] to [name_u]Owen[/name_u],
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] to [name_m]Lewis[/name_m],
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] to …
[name_m]Anton[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
[name_m]Fritz[/name_m]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u] (I second the [name_u]Reid[/name_u] suggestion from above! Excellent choice!)
When your fourth child arrives, be sure to post in Nameberry birth announcements. I am excited to see your choice!
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora/name_f
[name_u]June[/name_u] -is very sweet! So is [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
I think it’d be best to match the ew/ u vowel sound from [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], like how how you thought of [name_u]June[/name_u].
So I lean more towards suggestions such as [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Juna[/name_f], [name_u]Drew[/name_u]/[name_m]Andrew[/name_m], [name_f]Lilou[/name_f], [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m], [name_m]Tru[/name_m], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_u]Rudy[/name_u]
Oh goodness, I just love the name [name_f]Luna[/name_f]!
Unfortunately our last name is pronounced [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] (though spelled differently), and as I much as I enjoyed [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] growing up . . .
