Opinions on [name_f]Liberty[/name_f]?
I am not big on [name_f]Virtue[/name_f] names that being said one of my favorite names is [name_u]Bliss[/name_u] Haha.
I like [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], mostly because [name_f]Libby[/name_f] is a sweet nickname. But it’s strictly a guilty pleasure for me. With my last name (and many others) it has a tendency to sound like an insurance company rather than a name. And at least where I live, it’s very much associated with far-right anti-government types or extreme patriotism. Like the kind of people who name their sons after their favorite guns.
I love the name [name_f]Liberty[/name_f]! I’ve never heard of the ‘far-right anti-government/extreme patriotism’ thing before, but, for the longest time I was set on a daughter named [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] or [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] nn [name_f]Libby[/name_f] because at the time, I was 15-16 and had not long come back from a trip to [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] City. I think it’s beautiful, but I also think it’s a great alternative to the standard virtue names like [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Charity[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Another choice I love is [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f], which is essentially the Irish equivalent (Seer-sha).
I really like it (although I’d never actually use it), and think [name_f]Libby[/name_f] is adorable. Personally, I’d think to pair it with a more classic middle,or to use [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] as a middle and preface it with a more classic name.
You know what? I’d even double barrel it! (I love double barreled names!)
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]; “[name_f]Libby[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u]”
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]; “[name_f]Libby[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]”
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]; “[name_f]Libby[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]”
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]; “[name_f]Libby[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]”
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]; “[name_f]Libby[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]”
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f]; “[name_f]Libby[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f]”
You get the idea
I actually know two people (one in her twenties and one toddler) named [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], both going by [name_f]Libby[/name_f]. Definitely useable if you love it.
It’s one of my favorites!
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] has been on my guilted pleasure list for a long time. Idk if I’m really brave enough to use it but it’s so wonderful. It also has the amazing nn [name_f]Libby[/name_f].
I dislike [name_f]Liberty[/name_f].
I love it, but would probably use it as a middle name. I feel like it’s too big to be a first name
I adore [name_f]Liberty[/name_f]! [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] is my favorite combo at the moment, after [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] Ludington, who never gets the attention in history that she deserves. I’m actually surprised [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] isn’t more widely used. There’s a lot to like about it, especially in these times.
Maybe as a middle
This is my daughter [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]…
She is 5 almost 6 now and she suits her name so well.
I like [name_f]Liberty[/name_f]…refreshing and unique…
