Liesl Pronunciation?

I just came across this name and was wondering how to pronounce it. I looked it up and one website said Lie-EL and another said LEEZ- el. What do you say?

I say lee-zuhl, based on the [name_m]German[/name_m] language that makes more sense to me.

I say lee-zuhl. I don’t know [name_m]German[/name_m] pronunciation very well, but this is how the name was said in The Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f].

Have you ever seen the Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f]? It’s definitely LEE-zuhl.

I’ve always said “[name_f]Lise[/name_f]-ull”, but I think the [name_m]German[/name_m] s is more of a z than a sharp s, like I’m pronouncing it

Lees-uhl

Based on [name_m]German[/name_m] pronunciation I would agree with LEEZ-uhl

For me it’s LEE-zil, both in [name_m]German[/name_m] and [name_f]English[/name_f].
