I like the name [name]Dani[/name] as a nickname but I don’t like [name]Danielle[/name] or [name]Daniella[/name]; I’m trying to think of other girl’s names that could be shortened to [name]Dani[/name], maybe a name that has ‘dan’ somewhere in the middle…any ideas??
[name]Danica[/name] comes to mind right away.
[name]Dana[/name]? [name]Danae[/name] (duh-nay, Greek goddess of muse and poetry. This one is actually quite cool - I’m not sure why it isn’t used more.)? [name]Jordan[/name]? A bitch of a stretch, but maybe something like [name]Arden[/name] or [name]Ardan[/name]?
Well, there’s just the spelling [name]Daniela[/name], but that’s probably not what you mean, although I actually like it better.
[name]Dana[/name]
[name]Dania[/name]
[name]Danica[/name]
[name]Edana[/name]
[name]Idania[/name]
[name]Jordan[/name]
[name]Jordana[/name]
[name]Sheridan[/name]
[name]Sydania[/name]
Is what comes up in NB’s super search that I find most wearable, but run the search for yourself (“contains dan”) there are a lot more…
What about [name]Daneel[/name] (prn Da-neal)? I love it. I also cannot stand [name]Danielle[/name] or [name]Daniella[/name] but [name]Daneel[/name] just seems different to me
You’ve gotten several great options so far–I especially love [name]Danica[/name] and [name]Danae[/name] (which was almost my MN! I love it!).
What about Dannette? I came across it in a story once and I thought it was really interesting. I love the vintagey -ette ending, and Dannette/[name]Danette[/name] just seems to flow off the tongue. I love the options of using either [name]Dani[/name], [name]Annie[/name], or [name]Etta[/name]… That’s the only other option I can think of that hasn’t been mentioned yet…
Good luck!
I have a friend who named her daughter [name]Dani[/name]. [name]Just[/name] [name]Dani[/name]. (Actually, it’s technically [name]Dani[/name] [name]California[/name], which I’m not a fan of… I digress…) And I think the name is strong enough to stand on its own. [name]Do[/name] you really want to lengthen it, or do you feel like you need to? I think if you just feel like you need to, but you’re probably not going to find a longer version of this name that you truly love if [name]Dani[/name] is what you really love. [name]Just[/name] a thought. Good luck!
I think [name]Delaney[/name] could work as well.
Maybe a stretch, but [name]Diana[/name] nn [name]Dani[/name] might be nice. I like the classic girliness of [name]Diana[/name] and tom boy option of [name]Dani[/name], just incase she’s one or the other. I also have a friend with a baby sister named [name]Danika[/name] which has grown on me a little.
