Like Sidney, but not?

I really like [name_u]Sidney[/name_u], especially with the nn [name_m]Sid[/name_m], but I feel like it may be too feminine. What do you guys think? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other suggestions like this?

I don’t think it feels too feminine. I actually much prefer it on a boy, personally. [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_u]Gene[/name_u] come to mind!

To me, [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] feels feminine and [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] feels masculine! I think [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] is definitely usable on a boy.

I actually went to school with two guys named [name_u]Sidney[/name_u]/Sydney. I think it works well for a boy. I’ve seen [name_m]Sid[/name_m] listed as a nickname for Siddhart, Sidonius & Sidwell

I agree with others- [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] for a boy, [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] for a girl. I know a male [name_u]Sidney[/name_u]!

Sidney is definitely masculine, I know of young children with this name so I think it’s usable.

In my mind I still do class it as an old man name, so these spring to mind:

Stanley is the first one that comes to mind. [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] is all boy to me though, my grandfather was a [name_u]Sydney[/name_u].

Raymond with the nickname [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is great too.

Sidney or just [name_m]Sid[/name_m] are definitely still all male

I think [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] i think old school Hollywood, here are some Other ideas:

Terrence “[name_u]Tate[/name_u]”
[name_m]Lawerence[/name_m] “[name_m]Lars[/name_m]”
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m]/Harland “[name_m]Hank[/name_m]”
[name_m]Albert[/name_m] “[name_m]Albie[/name_m]”
[name_m]Emil[/name_m]/Emile “[name_u]Milo[/name_u]”

Not feminine at all. I love it! It’s very classic and handsome on a boy. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandpa’s name is [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] and everyone calls him [name_m]Sid[/name_m]. On a girl I find it’s kind of like [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], a bit of a try-hard gender neutral trendy name.

Not feminine at all
Really classic strong Male name
One of my all time favourites

If not how about [name_u]Stanley[/name_u] or [name_m]Peter[/name_m] or [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]

Sidney is an awesome unisex name. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandfather is [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] and we’re considering [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] if we have a girl. Sidwell or [name_u]Kassidy[/name_u]/Cassidy would allow you to use nn. [name_m]Sid[/name_m] as well.

I don’t think it’s too feminine!

Stanley, [name_u]Seth[/name_u], [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] might be similar

I definitely think [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] is a more masculine spelling, although I’ve known girls named [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] as well. I think it’s much fresher on a boy than a girl tbh!

Sidney is a nice name for a boy IMO, and I agree with the others who’ve said that it’s not too feminine.
