I say Lie lah like lilac as well and always assumed that is the correct prn.
Most people I think would say Lie-la or [name]Lee[/name]-la. I say Lie-la.
My general impression is that most people pronounce it as lie-lah, but I say it as lee-lah.
Lie-Lah. I say it like the end of [name]Delilah[/name] I guess
It depends where I am/ what the dominant language of the area is. When I’m in [name]Canada[/name], I’d instinctively say “LIE-la” but when I’m in Spain/ the Basque Country, it’s “[name]LEE[/name]-la”.
I wouldn’t ever think to pronounce it “[name]LIL[/name]-a” to be honest, unless someone told me that that’s how they’re pronouncing it. I’d likely spell it [name]Lilla[/name] with that pronunciation.
Def LIE-luh, but if it was spelled [name]Lilla[/name] I’d say it [name]LIL[/name]-uh
I say Lie-lah
Lie-lah, [name]Lilac[/name]
I say lie-lah as well.
My middle name is [name]Lyla[/name] and it is pronounced Lie- la like [name]Lilac[/name].
Most English speakers would pronounce [name]Lila[/name] as "lie-lah (like [name]Lilac[/name]). Some European cultures pronounce the “i” as “ee” (lee-lah).
I say lie-lah, like lilac, too.
I say it like [name]Lil[/name]-uh, like [name]Lily[/name].
I say Lie-Lah, as in [name]Lilac[/name]
