nina is a short form of penina meaning pearl in hebrew and lila means ‘she is mine’ / ‘you are mine’ in hebrew, considering the meanings and the sounds of the names, which is better and prettier, thank you!

I really like both of these names, I could see myself using either one! But I would say I lean toward [name_f]Nina[/name_f] because it seems to stand out a bit more since [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and other [name_f]Lil[/name_f]- names, and Lila-rhyming [name_f]Isla[/name_f] are all pretty well-used right now. I am also a fan of [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u] which gives [name_f]Nina[/name_f] an extra sparkle for me. But I do love the sound of [name_f]Lila[/name_f] as well!

I prefer [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. Nothing wrong with [name_f]Lila[/name_f], it’s a fine name, it’s just that the sound seems a bit overused to me right now. [name_f]Nina[/name_f], while maybe more widely used overall, seems to be less “trendy” and more steady.

Both are fine names, but I personally think [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is prettier. I love the soft, repeating L sounds. The “neen” sound in [name_f]Nina[/name_f] doesn’t bother me per se, but I don’t think it’s the prettiest, ya know?

They’re both pretty, but definitely different! [name_f]Lila[/name_f] seems softer, but [name_f]Nina[/name_f] seems warmer. [name_f]My[/name_f] preference is for [name_f]Nina[/name_f]!

I prefer [name_f]Nina[/name_f], because [name_f]Lila[/name_f] seems a bit too cutesy for my personal taste.
I’m also not sure how [name_f]Lila[/name_f] means “she is mine” or “you are mine”

I prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f], partly because I just think it’s lovely and partly because since I learned Spanish [name_f]Nina[/name_f] translates to “girl” in my head.

I slightly prefer the sound and meaning of [name_f]Lila[/name_f] but I agree with others that [name_f]Nina[/name_f] is more underused atm, so I lean more towards [name_f]Nina[/name_f] for that reason!

I prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f], as it sounds prettier to my ears. I’ve never liked [name_f]Nina[/name_f], and I actually think I like Pernina better than the shortened version.
