[name_u]Honest[/name_u] thoughts? Vibes? Is it trendy? How would you pronounce and spell it?
Where I live, A names rank supreme and makeup about a third of the top 100, but since im planning on moving, maybe la-la names really are mega popular? [name_f]Lily[/name_f] was really popular here for awhile, but Iām hearing it less and less! Plus, I tend to like more āpopularā names anyway .
The vibes I get and spunky and sweet! What about you?
I have a cousin named [name_f]Lila[/name_f]! I think Iāve only met three or four, all around my age (13-16 as of now). [name_f]Lila[/name_f] seems very floral but not in a super fancy way.
LIE-la, spelled either [name_f]Lila[/name_f] (favorite of mine) or [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]
I donāt think itās trendy, I really like [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] (spelled that way) and prefer it by FAR to [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] etc. I say LY luh, like the y in sky. I know one [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] and one [name_f]Lila[/name_f], so it isnāt common in my area. I get sweet, pretty, but intelligent vibes. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name!
I would pronounce it as lee-lah if I was speaking Spanish and lie-lah if I assumed she was an English-speaker. Regardless, both ways are beautiful! I love this name a lot.
Iām not a fan tbh. Nothing wrong with it in theory, but I associate it with Layla/Leila because I never know which way the latter spelling is pronounced, and as a former daycare teacher, Iāve taught 3 Laylas, plus a friend has a little daughter with the name too. However, I feel totally different about the lee-luh pronunciation. Thatās super cute and wonāt get lost in the crowd.
Yeah, itās a shame because [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is super sweet, but I just know so many. I also grew up with girls named [name_f]Leila[/name_f] (spelling assumed, but it was pronounced lee-eye-luh) and [name_f]Lelia[/name_f] (leel-lee-uh), which are also nice alternatives if youāre looking for more!
Btw, Iām a [name_f]Lily[/name_f], and have only met one other [name_f]Lily[/name_f] in my entire life, as well as two Lilianas who have it as a nickname. I know itās popular at the moment, but the youngest one Iāve ever met is in college now. So Iād be a hypocrite if I recommended [name_f]Lily[/name_f] despite the popularity but recommended against [name_f]Lila[/name_f] for the same reason.
@bemiranda If you really love the name, I wouldnāt worry about the popularity at all. I pronounce it ālie-laā and spell it [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], but I donāt think you can go wrong either way. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference is just for [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] over [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. I think it is a name that ages really well. I can see it on a woman of any age. Itās a very spunky name, and I see a girl/teen/woman who isnāt afraid to speak her mind, and I love it so much! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
i love lila, itās such a sweet name!
growing up i knew a few lilaās, so i donāt think itās unique, but itās definitely not as trendy as other names out there (like lily). i pronounce it lie-la and my favorite spelling is either lila or lilah! lila makes me think of cherry blossoms, fairies, and everything and anything magical
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] is what I consider to be semi popular⦠never has been as famous or trendy as [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but still carries a large sense of familiarity.
I have always thought the name is very pretty, charming, and kind of regal. Not a name that is overused, I would go for it, I wouldnāt mind having a child named [name_f]Lila[/name_f] or being named [name_f]Lila[/name_f] myself.
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] isnāt normally the type of name I like, but itās actually on my long list right now! Something about her just feels so refreshing! I donāt think Iād actually use it for a child, but I do really like it.
