Lilium, Lilias and Lilian

Hello! What do you think of these names for someone nonbinary?

[name_f]Lilium[/name_f] is gender neutral and also has the -um ending, which is gender neutral in Latin (I study Latin myself). It is a Latin name. [name_f]Liu[/name_f] or Lium will be nicknames I will use.

[name_f]Lilias[/name_f] is technically femenine? I do not know. But the -as ending doesn’t feel that femenine to me anyways so I can see it well for someone nonbinary. I also like [name_u]Elias[/name_u] for myself, which sounds similar but the point is that if [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] might sound too femenine for someone, [name_u]Elias[/name_u] might sound to masculine for someone. I love the [name_f]Secret[/name_f] Garden association. [name_m]Lias[/name_m] and [name_u]Li[/name_u] will be nicknames I will use.

[name_f]Lilian[/name_f] is great because it is international; masculine in [name_u]French[/name_u] (I love [name_u]French[/name_u] names), femenine in [name_f]English[/name_f], and neutral (leaning femenine) in Chinese. I have Chinese origins / descent so it is perfect for me. It means beautiful lotus or intelligent lotus, and a lot of other things in Chinese. [name_u]Liam[/name_u] will be the nickname!!

What do you prefer the most?

I love flower names, this is why I picked them.

[name_f]Lilium[/name_f] is very cool - I like the distinct yet familiar and gentle sounds and it feels the most gender neutral to me.

[name_f]Lilium[/name_f] is also my favourite for myself out of these, but I just need an opinion! I also like [name_u]Linden[/name_u] and [name_u]Lark[/name_u]

Lillium and Lillius are my favorites! excellent taste, those are some seriously stylish names :slight_smile:

Lilium is the most gender neutral. The others feel strictly feminine.

[name_f]Lilium[/name_f] is very cool and sounds the most gender neutral to me. [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] sound more feminine.

I have the same thought and [name_f]Lilium[/name_f] is my favourote, but I have the fear it is too out there?

[name_f]Lilium[/name_f] has no history as a given name for either gender.
[name_f]Lilias[/name_f] is strictly feminine.
[name_f]Lilian[/name_f] is strictly feminine in [name_f]English[/name_f], and strictly masculine in [name_u]French[/name_u].

So [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] would be my pick.
