Lillian or Lucy?

Which of these l-beginning names do you prefer?
Also what vibes do these names give off?
Thank you

I find [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] a tiny bit easier to say so it gets my vote. Both are very classic but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is very bouncy and fun while [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is very mature and elegant.

I agree! Tbh I feel [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] might age better, and I prefer the ending. I love the nickname [name_f]Lily[/name_f], so I don’t think any shortening would be an issue. It’s definitely on my list for the future! And it reminds me of my beloved [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] without the risk of [name_f]Jill[/name_f] being spelt [name_u]Gill[/name_u] :joy:

Lucy!! [name_u]Strong[/name_u] but sweet, short but elegant, just very pleasing. It gives me a serious feel but with a quiet sense of fun and spark, a wintery, brisk and bright feel too.

[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is lovely too - elegant and strong, but frilly too. It gives me vintage vibes

[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is my favourite :bouquet:

I know that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a berry staple but personally I’ve never liked her she reminds me of the word loose so just do not see the appeal.

Whereas [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous in the UK [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is popular but variants of [name_f]Lily[/name_f] are unusual this includes [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] so for me she feels refreshing. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] has lovely connotations to the flower, feels timeless and elegant with sweet nickname options.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] feels quite modern, artificial, pale green. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is sweet and energetic.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] both but prefer the more elegant [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] gives a cute but sophisticated laid back vibe :purple_heart:

I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]! For some reason [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] feels a bit more plain to me. I tend to prefer the brighter sound of shorter names I think

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is easy to envision on a baby or an adult. It’s chic, lively, and has a great depth.

I went to school with so many Lillys, [name_f]Lilis[/name_f], and Lilys - but only a couple of Lucys. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], to me, is summery and bright - it is a very pretty name. I would like it more if she went exclusively by [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (and I also enjoy the [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] spelling) but I’m a bit “over” [name_f]Lily[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], it seems more substantial.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is spunky and fun, I like it a lot. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is a classic beauty but I know quite a few girls who go by [name_f]Lily[/name_f], so I prefer the less popular option.

100% Lucy!! I think of the name’s meaning, “light”. It is substantial but approachable, and it makes me think of a spunky girl who is not afraid to speak her mind. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is also a name that ages well on a teen and a young woman. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it so much!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (Lily) are both great names.
I view [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] as more of a professional “adult” name. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is playful and I see it as a “nickname” name for [name_f]Lucille[/name_f].

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] comes across young. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] comes across old. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] comes across young.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], Lucy!! 100%!

I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] better, she’s sweet with a spunky vibe. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] feels a bit more plain to me for some reason!
