Lily vs Lillian

The middle name will be [name_f]Ora[/name_f]. I vastly prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a fn, and we’ll call her that regardless, but we always thought Lill.ian Or.a sounded better than [name_f]Lil[/name_f].y Or.a. But some people disagree with me. I don’t know. Does [name_f]Lil[/name_f].y Or.a sound nice to you? Or does Lill.ian Or.a sound better?

Thanks!

I adore [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] of course is very sweet. [name_f]Ora[/name_f] is gorgeous! I think either name makes for a wonderful combo, and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] is just fine. Oh my, what a stunning name, I am in love. So as it seems you much prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] over [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], go for it!

I, too, adore [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (and I’ve used it as a middle on my list), but I don’t know–[name_f]Lily[/name_f] feels trendier to me than [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], for some reason? Both might be considered classic and timeless, but [name_f]Lily[/name_f] has more of a straight up-shoot. I think [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] does sound better, and is so intriguing! [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] to me sounds like a smoosh of two names (like [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] have become Liliora). I like the sound, but I like [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] better as a combo. That would get my personal preference vote, but I don’t think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] is bad, and if you have a definite preference for [name_f]Lily[/name_f], I think you should go for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f]. My problem is that it now almost seems like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], or [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], because I’ve said Liliora too much, haha! I love dainty and elaborate [name_f]Lily[/name_f] names, though, so I’m tempted to like Liliora better than [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] AND [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f]…

Good luck!

I like [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] better. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ora[/name_f] are both so short so they kind of smash together when you say the name, I don’t know

I definitely prefer [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f]. However, if you’re not a fan of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], then go for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] as it’s not terrible.

I am not a huge fan of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] - and I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is adorable - but I agree with you that [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] sounds and flows much better. However, at the end of the day you want to call your little miss something that you actually love, not something you settled on coz it sounded good. If you prefer [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], I would just go with that.

[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] for sure. [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Ora[/name_f] feel very choppy and harsh together, [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ora[/name_f] flows together beautifully.
