I’ve realized that I love the name [name]Lily[/name]! I know it’s common but it’s very sweet. [name]Jackie[/name] had mentioned it a whole back, and I remembered it again. We’re just stuck on spelling. I like [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Lillie[/name] the best, but I can’t decide. [name]Lilly[/name]'s not my favorite. What do you think, with [name]Riley[/name] [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]?
Definitely [name]Lily[/name]! It’s classic and gorgeous! To me, [name]Lillie[/name] sounds too cutesy and would not age well.
I think you’re right. I just love how [name]Lillie[/name] “feels” more British and my dad is British, so we try to hold on to that, but I agree that it wouldn’t be as great when she’s older. Maybe [name]Liliane[/name] or [name]Lillian[/name] and she could go by the full or the nn…I don’t know.
I love [name]Lily[/name] very much. It’s on my short list as a nn for [name]Liliana[/name].
I prefer the [name]Lily[/name] spelling, as it connects to the flowers. [name]Lilly[/name] and [name]Lillie[/name] always seem more clunky to me, they don’t have the same lithe, simple, charming appeal of [name]Lily[/name]. I think [name]Lily[/name] is very cute with [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]. I don’t know if it would bother you–do you feel that [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Riley[/name] are too close? I’m not sure it would bother me–I’m [name]Ashley[/name] and my sister’s [name]Natalie[/name], and no one seems to notice the similar “lee” endings–but I thought I would bring it up just in case it does matter.
ETA: I do prefer a full name with the nn Lily–I think Lilia, Liliana, and Lillian are great options–but I do think Lily can stand on its own.
I like the idea of [name]Lillian[/name] with [name]Lillie[/name] as the nickname, especially if you can’t seem to let go of that spelling. That way you can get the British feel and she can choose to go by the more mature-sounding [name]Lillian[/name] if she wants.
My great-grandmother was [name]Lillie[/name], [name]Lillie[/name] used to actually be much more common than [name]Lily[/name] back in the day… I like both a lot (much more than [name]Lilly[/name]), but personally I would go with [name]Lillian[/name] nn [name]Lillie[/name]
I don’t think they’re too close. I mean, if you say our names in order : [name]Riley[/name] [name]Anne[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], and [name]Lily[/name], there’s nothing (that I can hear) wrong with it. Thanks :). I like the name [name]Liliana[/name] as well, by the way
[name]RA[/name]
I tend to like the more “tailored” versions of names, so definitely prefer [name]Lily[/name], over the other two options.
[name]Lillie[/name]>[name]Lily[/name]>[name]Lilly[/name]
[name]Lilium[/name] nn. [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Lileas[/name] nn. [name]Lillie[/name]
[name]Lilias[/name] nn. [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Lilian[/name] nn. [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] nn. [name]Lilly[/name]
[name]Lilium[/name] is my favorite version.
[name]Lillie[/name] may not be so good as it separates to lil’-lie as in little lie.
[name]Lily[/name]. Simple and elegant, my favorite spelling by far
I love [name]Lily[/name]. It’s spare, slim, beautiful, just like the graceful flowers.
[name]Lillie[/name] feels a bit more glittery and sugary somehow. Gilding the lily… if you know what I mean. But I do like [name]Lillian[/name] and it makes some sense as a nickname in that context. Though if I had a [name]Lillian[/name] I’d probably just call her [name]Lillian[/name].
[name]Lilly[/name] is just aggravating to look at.
I figured not. I mean, we’re [name]Ashley[/name], [name]John[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name], and [name]Natalie[/name], nobody has ever noticed it. Probably because there’s two siblings in between. [name]Just[/name] thought I’d bring it up.
I’m so glad I’m not alone in that thought! [name]Lilly[/name] just rubs me the wrong way. I love just [name]Lillian[/name] (I’d be tempted to call her just [name]Lillian[/name], too!), but [name]Lilly[/name] just frustrates me for some reason, haha.
[name]Lily[/name] by far, I really dislike the other spellings of it. [name]Lillie[/name] just looks silly to me! (hehe rhymes)
[name]Lily[/name] by far.
[name]Lillie[/name] is very juvenile, and [name]Lilly[/name] is just irritating to me. Lol.
I think [name]Lily[/name] fits best with [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name].
I like [name]Lily[/name]! It is classic and simple
I really like [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! I like the name [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but I think to is too common so if I was you I would choose [name_f]Lillie[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Lillie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is my personal favorite.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Perfection
I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f], simple but sweet.
