I was wondering, do you think [name_u]Linden[/name_u] sounds more like a girl’s name or a boy’s name?
Because I was once walking with my boyfriend and we smelt some flowers and they were so fragrant! One of the sweetest smells! And we found out that they were linden flowers and I immediately thought that it would make a nice name for a girl. I looked it up and it said that [name_u]Linden[/name_u] was more commonly used for boys though.
It means Tillia tree/lime tree or lime flower and is related to the [name_f]Goddess[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f] (sounds quite feminine to me).
It also reminds me of Lindel, [name_m]Elwood[/name_m], Faithlyn and an obvious one, [name_f]Linda[/name_f], though I find [name_u]Linden[/name_u] more interesting. I love the nickname [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] too.
I guess it could work for a boy, but I’m just surprised because it sounded like a girl name to me.
A famous footballer and his wife named there daughter [name_u]Linden[/name_u] and a girl who recently won an award in the Olympics is named [name_u]Linden[/name_u] [name_m]Hall[/name_m].
I think it sounds like a girl name, due to the [name_f]Lin[/name_f] beginning. I have it on my list for a girl. It’s also listed in a baby name book I own as a girl name. Here’s the page about it with some combo ideas:
I definitely can see [name_u]Linden[/name_u] working for a girl. It matches the trend of using masculine/surname-y names for girls, and the meaning is super sweet as well!
I had [name_u]Linden[/name_u] on my list for a girl so I’ve always seen it fitting better on a girl especially with nickname [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]. I think it’s a beautiful choice
I have a coworker with a daughter named [name_u]Linden[/name_u]. I see the name as totally gender neutral; my first thought is of [name_m]President[/name_m] [name_m]Lyndon[/name_m] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m].
I actually know a [name_u]Linden[/name_u] that’s a girl! I’ve heard of it being used for boys as well and see it was truly unisex, but it is a nice option for a girl!
