Linden or Lindy

I met a girl on another forum called [name_u]Linden[/name_u] which happens to be one of my favourite names. She’s not sure if she still wants to go by her name or her nick name (Lindy). I told her that I think both of those names are gorgeous, but I wanted to see what other people thought.

She says she doesn’t mind her name too much, but when people see it written down, they always assume she’s a boy and she says a lot of people don’t like her name, but she’s always really liked [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] because it’s very girly and pretty sounding.

If you’re a girl, would you rather be called [name_u]Linden[/name_u] or [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]?

I like both but I think I like [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] a bit more

Both are nice! Personally I do like [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] better, though.

I adore [name_u]Linden[/name_u] for its uniqueness and botanical association and I think [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is just ok.

I used to go to school with a girl named [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]! It was her full name, but she liked it and it suited her. I like it too, but I would personally prefer it to be a NN if it were my name. I feel like it’s usually better to have a longer and/or more serious option at hand

I like [name_u]Linden[/name_u] a lot and [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is beautiful! This is one of those rare occasions where I’d personally want [name_u]Linden[/name_u] as my name with [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] as a nn. (Usually I’m in favour of going for a nn as the official name, if that’s what you want to use on a daily basis. In this case keeping [name_u]Linden[/name_u] too would be having my cake and eating it!)
