[name]Hi[/name] all,
We are expecting our first child, don’t know if we’re having a boy or a girl yet, but we have been talking about our short lists with one another. Husband isn’t into most of the boy names on my short list, and I’d like to get some thoughts from fellow name enthusiasts.
Here’s the list:
[name]Linus[/name] - I love it, it’s sweet and not commonly used, husband can’t get over the European pronunciation which rhymes with penis.
[name]Ezra[/name] - Husband says it’s too unfamiliar and could sound too feminine.
[name]Eamon[/name] - Again, too unfamiliar, people won’t know how to pronounce it.
[name]Simon[/name] - Finally, one that hubs likes, unfortunately it’s also the name of our turtle.
[name]Damien[/name] - I think it’s perfect, hubs thinks it’s evil.
[name]Adrian[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, hubs thinks it’s “girlie”.
A few more details - hubs has no suggestions for a boy name. He is, however, obsessed with [name]Lucia[/name], nn [name]Lucy[/name], for a girl. I think it’s a nice name but too popular. It’s also the name of my brother’s dog.
If we have a boy, his middle name will be [name]Eugene[/name], after my grandfather. Hubby’s last name (I kept my name) is very [name]German[/name] - first syllable is Rat - really, it is.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
