Linus? Wallace? Samson?

I don’t think I’ve done more than an occasional random comment on other people’s posts since we found out that our third baby is also our third boy! This pregnancy has knocked me on my face to the point that just typing out sentences feels very strenuous.:joy:

[name_f][/name_f]

Before we found out the gender, I was spamming the girl forum because I thought we were pretty settled on a boy option.
[name_f][/name_f]Surprise, surprise, now that we are actually naming a boy we are struggling. :joy:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]You[/name_m] might already know, our oldest two are [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] and [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m][name_f][/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

At the beginning of this pregnancy, we more or less agreed that we both liked [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] enough that it would probably be the[name_f][/name_f] name of it was another boy.

[name_f][/name_f]

We both do still like [name_m]Samson[/name_m], and it is still a top contender. However, I feel like we both have enough cons and reservations about it that it seems like a less likely option by the day.
[name_f][/name_f]We are okay with the nickname [name_m]Sammy[/name_m], but neither of us are big on [name_m]Sam[/name_m]. I know SO many Sams. Our next door neighbor is [name_m]Sam[/name_m]. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is I think #15[name_f][/name_f] in the US right now and I imagine there will be a million little Sams his age as a result. I’ve mentioned a few names to several people and alllllll of them have commented that they would inevitably call [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_m]Sam[/name_m], and even if family calls him [name_m]Sammy[/name_m] that other people will inevitably shorten it to just [name_m]Sam[/name_m].
[name_f][/name_f]I also don’t love[name_f][/name_f] how punctuated it sometimes feels? [name_m]Like[/name_m] there’s a stark separation between Sam—-Son, making it sound like two distinct words. Another person also made that remark to me.
[name_f][/name_f]Overall we both still like [name_m]Samson[/name_m] and it very well could be what he gets named, but we are not fully sold or settled on it yet.

[name_f][/name_f]

A few others I’d like some input on in comparison to [name_m]Samson[/name_m]:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Linus[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I’m very surprised that my husband is coming around to [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and seeming to like it. It’s one I’ve gone back and forth on over the years, but really recently I think it’s grown on me a lot. I saw in old forums someone mention that it sounds to similar to “sinus”. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think that’s true? Especially the possessive case? If you said “Linus’ books”, does that sounds too much like sinuses? [name_f]Or[/name_f] is that way over-analyzing?

[name_f][/name_f]

A few [name_m]Linus[/name_m] combos I jotted down the other night:
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m] (he’s due in [name_m]August[/name_m], so I’m not sure if that’s a pro or con for [name_m]August[/name_m] as a middle name?)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Willem[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Wilden[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Foster[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Ellis[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Murphy[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Wallace[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] was one I asked about frequently on here when we were naming our second. It was one of my husband’s favorites the majority of the pregnancy. I was never fully sold on it because I was working with someone whose last name was [name_m]Wallace[/name_m], and have a family friend with the same last name. It just felt off and didn’t feel like his[name_f][/name_f] name. I feel like I’ve suddenly come back around to it and kind of like it for this baby. I feel like [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] and [name_m]Warren[/name_m] might be a little too close, though?

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wallace[/name_m] Casper/Caspar
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Emmaus[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Gene[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- we like the combo [name_m]Gene[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] or [name_m]Gene[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m] as a whole, but don’t love [name_m]Gene[/name_m] itself, nor [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]. We both keep coming back to it thinking it’s growing on us, but not sure we’d actually use it as a first. :woman_shrugging:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Gus[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I like [name_m]Gus[/name_m] [name_m]Webster[/name_m] as a combo. I was really big on [name_m]Gus[/name_m] early on, but I’m not sure it feels like his name. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband prefers [name_m]Gus[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], and I just am not feeling like [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is his name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a weird gut feeling I can’t get past.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Hewitt[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], nn [name_m]Hugh[/name_m], [name_m]Huey[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- I’ve kind of been liking this one, my husband doesn’t love[name_f][/name_f] it.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Dexter[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- I still love, my husband still does not like it at all so going to scratch this completely I think.

[name_f][/name_f]

Some other randoms:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Foster[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- we like on paper, feels off to us. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not feeling like his name.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Fisher[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- not loving this with our last name, and I’m not a fan of [name_m]Hunter[/name_m] as a name so I feel like I shouldn’t like [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] either. :joy::woman_shrugging:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Watson[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- was a top contender for our second. We both like[name_f][/name_f] it, I don’t love[name_f][/name_f] it. I think I get hung up because I tell my oldest “what, son?” A million times a day when he’s hitting me with endless questions. :joy:[name_f]So[/name_f] that’s all I think when I see it.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Eamon[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Frankin[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- husband’s co-worker ruined this for him
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Grover[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Elmer[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Melvin[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Clemens[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Clement[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Ray[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Abner[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Nile[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Wiley[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

Okay, my kids’ brief little car nap just came to an abrupt end so I’ll stop my novel here.
[name_f][/name_f]But would love any strong yes’s or no’s you feel towards any of these. Particularly overall vibe/impression of [name_m]Linus[/name_m] vs [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] vs [name_m]Samson[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

Thank you!

I LOVE [name_m]Linus[/name_m], and particularly love it with your older son’s names. They just sound like they’re from the same era and I adore the set.

[name_f][/name_f]

I have all the same hangups about [name_m]Samson[/name_m] that you do, and I also think [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] and [name_m]Warren[/name_m] are a little close, especially when one brother’s name doesn’t start with W.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]You[/name_m] have other great ones on your list–Gus and [name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] stand out to me–but I think [name_m]Linus[/name_m] is the real winner here.

I’m liking [name_m]Linus[/name_m] for you, it sounds great with your other boy’s names.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal opinion- if you don’t like [name_m]Sam[/name_m], skip [name_m]Samson[/name_m]. And [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] & W@rren are a bit close.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]You[/name_m] mentioned liking [name_m]August[/name_m] as a middle, what about as a first with nn [name_m]Gus[/name_m]?

I love all of your choices, I really don’t think you can go wrong. I just wanted to throw out [name_m]Sonny[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Samson[/name_m] as a possibility. [name_m]Sammy[/name_m] might still get shortened to [name_m]Sam[/name_m], and [name_m]Sonny[/name_m] should avoid that.

[name_m]Linus[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] → handsome, vintage, and cool. It gives me a hint of mystery but kind of feels cuddly too? It does rhyme with sinus the way I pronounce but I don’t find it too big a deal? There are worse rhymes :person_shrugging:

[name_f][/name_f]

Lots of good middle options [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m][name_f][/name_f], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Murphy[/name_m] are my faves

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Wallace[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] → cool, clunky, and unexpected. I do find it a little too similar to W.arr.en for my tastes and while I don’t think it’s unusable (they won’t always be referred to together after all), I do find myself tripping on the War- [name_m]Wal[/name_m] sounds?

[name_f][/name_f]

I like [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Gene[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] → it has a kind of relaxed, gentlemanly vibe. A bit quirky but wise. I like it better than [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Gus[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] → rugged but somehow polished at the same time. But if you’re not feeling it, I’d strike it off

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] → ooh, familiar sounds but also distinctive. I like it

[name_f][/name_f]

I would probably strike: [name_m]Dexter[/name_m], [name_m]Foster[/name_m], [name_m]Fisher[/name_m], [name_m]Watson[/name_m] (closer to W.ar.ren than [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] imo), [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], [name_m]Melvin[/name_m], [name_m]Clemens[/name_m], and [name_m]Wiley[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

Intrigued by [name_m]Clement[/name_m], [name_m]Nile[/name_m], [name_m]Ray[/name_m], [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], and [name_m]Eamon[/name_m] for you.

I absolutely love [name_m]Samson[/name_m] he’s gorgeous such a handsome name that feels warm, summery and fashionable. I think [name_m]Samson[/name_m] is very cohesive with your older boys definitely providing the right vintage eclectic feel. Regarding nicknames I definitely feel you can control this. I used to think you couldn’t and it’s previously put me off using names but I feel if you introduce [name_m]Samson[/name_m] nickname [name_m]Sammy[/name_m] then people would use [name_m]Sammy[/name_m]. Personally though I would use the nickname [name_m]Sonny[/name_m] I think it avoids the [name_m]Sam[/name_m] issue and is gorgeous! Honestly for me [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] is just superb.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] feels very nerdy, eclectic vintage choice [name_f][/name_f] I really love how [name_m]Linus[/name_m] has a distinguished flair and I do not hear sinuses. Looking at your combinations I love [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] & [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] they feel well rounded with a good flow. I like the idea of [name_m]August[/name_m] as an [name_m]August[/name_m] baby however I find the double S sound a little off the flow is a bit choppy. Maybe [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Somerled[/name_m] could be a nice choice with a summery vibe.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Wallace[/name_m] does feel very you[name_f][/name_f] he’s an eclectic vintage name that has a touch of nerd which appears to be your style. Still I do think [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] & W@rr3n are a little matchy leaving Clyd3 on his own if that makes sense personally I wouldn’t use this name.

[name_f][/name_f]

I’m not entirely sold on [name_m]Gene[/name_m] I can see the appeal with the overall clunky cool vibe but I’m unsure on my overall thoughts. I also think if you only like the name as an overall combination of [name_m]Gene[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m] rather than just [name_m]Gene[/name_m] on his own then I wouldn’t use this name. I’m also not keen on [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] feels a little too clunky.

[name_f][/name_f]

I think [name_m]Gus[/name_m] is a sweet vintage choice however I do prefer as a nickname. [name_m]August[/name_m] is repeatedly mentioned throughout your list so would you consider [name_m]August[/name_m] upfront with the nickname [name_m]Gus[/name_m]. I think [name_m]August[/name_m] feels more relaxed in comparison to [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] maybe [name_m]August[/name_m] [name_m]Webster[/name_m] would be handsome.

[name_f][/name_f]

Personally I’m really not keen on [name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] feels just a little off to me and overall sound a bit squeaky if that makes sense. I think I prefer just [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] in all honesty I think [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is a smart choice.

[name_f][/name_f]

Ahhh I’m not keen on [name_m]Dexter[/name_m] just feels a little heavy with the obvious negative association I would put forward the idea of [name_m]Declan[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

Looking at your F names I do like [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] however [name_m]Foster[/name_m] feels a little surnamey and [name_m]Frankin[/name_m] a bit sharp in sound strongly prefer [name_m]Franklin[/name_m]. Putting forward the ideas [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m], [name_m]Flynn[/name_m], [name_m]Farley[/name_m] & [name_m]Finnick[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Watson[/name_m] & [name_m]Wiley[/name_m] I would rule out because I’m not keen on repeated initials which I find a little off. I’m not keen on repeating initials. Onto your E names I find both [name_m]Eamon[/name_m] & [name_m]Elmer[/name_m] a little clunky and awkward in sound. [name_m]Other[/name_m] names mentioned that I’m not sold on as I find a little dated [name_m]Melvin[/name_m] & [name_m]Ray[/name_m] I prefer [name_m]Ray[/name_m] to [name_m]Melvin[/name_m] though. I think [name_m]Abner[/name_m] is handsome with a clunky cool feel that works with your sibling set similarly I think [name_m]Clement[/name_m] and [name_m]Nile[/name_m] would be handsome. [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] & [name_m]Grover[/name_m] do work but they aren’t my favourite options.

[name_f][/name_f]

Wishing you all the best

[name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] is so good. [name_m]Easy[/name_m] winner for me.

[name_m]Eamon[/name_m] and [name_m]Clement[/name_m] are two of my all time favorite boy names so it’s hard for me to see past those, but of your choices [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Linus[/name_m] gets my vote. [name_f]Sweet[/name_f] but strong, unexpected, pairs perfectly with his brothers. Congratulations!

*I love Samson - on its own and with your set - and I think Sammy and Sonny are fab nicknames but if Sam just isn’t a risk you want to take

  • re Linus, don’t think the Sinus similarity is a factor, that seems so unlikely to me. My challenge with Linus that it reads down and out “Boomer” in Australia, rather than the soft vintage, slightly nerdy and cool feel it seems to have in America. I can see its appeal though and it’s probably your best match. I like it best with Murphy, Franklin, Benjamin, Vincent & Alexander.

*Warren & Wallace are too close for me, I prefer different starting letters anyway and they also repeat double betters and same syllables, so for me, this would be a middle name only.

*Gene feels a bit flat after Clyde and Gus too simple, but Augustine, too ornate & flouncy (and more intense/religious, and I say this when it’s a family name for me!).

*I quite like Hewitt but not sure I’d bother pushing it if your DH isn’t sure. Same for Dexter.

*I like Clement & Gilbert of the list you’re considering but I’d rather not a C name, let alone a Cl one, right after Clyde. I don’t mind Niall (would spell like this, the Irish name, not Nile the river).

*Other names you might like in first spot: Ambrose, Declan, Fergus, Fletcher, Hamish, Benedict, Angus, Toby, Gideon, Desmond, Malcolm, Roland, Rafferty, Phineas, Beckett, and Sullivan.

Edit: came back to add Hugo & Hewson (if you’re ok with a “son” name, seems to be iffy!)

I love [name_m]Samson[/name_m] for you and think you could mostly enforce [name_m]Sammy[/name_m], but[name_f][/name_f] he might decide to be [name_m]Sam[/name_m], or it might happen organically at school or with future friends and partners, so if you want to totally avoid [name_m]Sam[/name_m] I would avoid [name_m]Samson[/name_m] sadly. Would definitely rule out [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] with [name_m]Warren[/name_m], too.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]The[/name_m] Linus/sinus thing is a non issue for me and I really like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] for you! Personally I love [name_m]August[/name_m] as a middle for an [name_m]August[/name_m] baby but don’t love it with [name_m]Linus[/name_m] due to the repeated -us sound. I love [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]!

[name_f]So[/name_f] sorry to hear you’re doubting [name_m]Samson[/name_m]! [name_f][/name_f] I think he’s a lovely name (although I prefer Sampson… much less common but a variant used in some translations of the Bible), and I’ve been loving him nn [name_m]Sam[/name_m] and [name_f]Sasha[/name_f] lately. [name_f][/name_f] I think for me the P helps with it not seeming to be just [name_m]Sam[/name_m] + son?

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] I absolutely adore and like him for you… but I’m a little hung up on how he sounds with your second son—the “lie” sounds are particularly strong? [name_f][/name_f] I wouldn’t be concerned with the sinus thing, but I can see how some would. [name_f][/name_f] I love [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] (my forever favorite [name_m]Linus[/name_m] combo! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Avery[/name_f] [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is on my own list :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:), and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m]! [name_f][/name_f] If the lie sounds don’t bother you, he feels like a winner (just like Samson!).

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Wallace[/name_m] I want to like, I like [name_m]Walt[/name_m] more than [name_f]Wally[/name_f] personally, but it would fit well with your boys! [name_f][/name_f] I can’t tell if I’m bothered about him with your oldest son’s name, but I don’t think they’re too similar? [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Emmaus[/name_m] is handsome though!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Gene[/name_m] I would nix since you don’t love [name_m]Gene[/name_m] or Eugene—Gene [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is too rhymey for me personally, too.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Gus[/name_m] [name_m]Webster[/name_m] is really handsome, I like it a lot. [name_f][/name_f] I personally prefer [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] too, it’s one of my favorites, though I prefer [name_m]Auggie[/name_m] to [name_m]Gus[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_m]Gus[/name_m] [name_m]Webster[/name_m] is really fun though!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] wouldn’t be my first thought but I think he fits really well with your sons! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Hughey[/name_m] is adorable.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Dexter[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- too rhymey for me but you know I love [name_m]Dexter[/name_m] for you!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Watson[/name_m] I’m a big fan of, and I think if it were right, the “what, son?” thing wouldn’t bother you—if you use it, I’m sure you’ll change how you speak to avoid confusion! [name_f][/name_f] I really love [name_m]Watson[/name_m] but if he doesn’t feel right, I would let him go.

[name_f][/name_f]

I understand your feelings for [name_m]Hunter[/name_m], but [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] I’m less opposed to for spiritual meanings? [name_f][/name_f] For me it makes me think “fisher of men” rather than a literal fisher.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Foster[/name_m] I love for you too but it doesn’t sound like it’s right, at least for this babe. [name_f][/name_f] I would set him aside too.

[name_f][/name_f]

LOVE [name_m]Grover[/name_m] (!!!), [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], Clement/Clemens, and [name_m]Abner[/name_m] for you! [name_f][/name_f] They’re all perfect with your sons’ names. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Samson[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Gus[/name_m], [name_m]Dexter[/name_m], [name_m]Fisher[/name_m], [name_m]Grover[/name_m], [name_m]Clement[/name_m], and [name_m]Abner[/name_m] are my favorites for you! [name_f][/name_f] What a shame you don’t love [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] because he seems perfect with W@rren and Clyd3 for me.

[name_f][/name_f]

Good luck!

Congratulations! Here are some thoughts:

[name_m]Samson[/name_m] – I think it goes really nicely with your sons’ names, and I think it flows fairly nicely, at least in my accent. I think [name_m]Sam[/name_m] might be difficult to avoid, but maybe if you called him [name_m]Sonny[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Sammy[/name_m] people wouldn’t go to [name_m]Sam[/name_m]? Out of your top 3, this is the one I would choose as a brother to Warren and Clyde.

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] – My first thought was that the ‘li’ sound is very similar to Clyde’s name - I feel like they seem a little bit matchy compared to Warren? I really like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] though.

[name_m]Wallace[/name_m] – I agree that it’s probably a little bit close to Warren, to the point where I wouldn’t personally use it? But I do like [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] and [name_m]Wallace[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m].

[name_m]Gene[/name_m] – I think it’s a really nice fit with your sons’ names and I like [name_m]Gene[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m]. However, most of the time you will just be calling him by his first name, so if you don’t love [name_m]Gene[/name_m] on its own it might not be the one.

[name_m]Gus[/name_m] – I like [name_m]Gus[/name_m] on its own as a sibling for your kids, but I think [name_m]August[/name_m] goes better than [name_m]Augustine[/name_m]. You might also like [name_m]Angus[/name_m]? [name_m]Gus[/name_m] [name_m]Webster[/name_m] is nice as well.

[name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] – Personally not a fan of [name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] but it does fit with your other kids’ names and [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is super cute.

Reassuring to hear positive feedback on [name_m]Linus[/name_m]! It’s one of those that we really like because it does feel cohesive and form the same era as our other boys, but worry if it would be received well.

Yay for [name_m]Linus[/name_m]! We keep scratching [name_m]Samson[/name_m] from the list because of the [name_m]Sam[/name_m] issue then eventually circle back around to it thinking we could mitigate the nicknames, but then veto it again because we don’t want to risk it. And back and forth and back and forth. :joy:

We know three little boys with the first name [name_m]August[/name_m], so we don’t want to use it in the first spot. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband also isn’t big on using his birth month as his first name. I do think [name_m]August[/name_m] is super sweet, though.

I think [name_m]Sonny[/name_m] is warm and… well, sunny :joy:[name_f][/name_f] feeling. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband just isn’t big on it. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s pretty similar to [name_m]Sammy[/name_m] which he is okay with. :woman_shrugging:

Yeah, [name_m]Watson[/name_m] is another we keep vetoing then circling back to because we do really like it, but it shares both the beginning and ending sounds with [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and that would just be too much!

[name_f][/name_f]

I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes [name_m]Hewitt[/name_m], no one else I’ve mentioned it to is big on it. I love it!
